intake / turbo problem.

sorry again for the noob questions but this is a biggy and im really scared. heres what happened. my bro-in-law and i went to test drive my car. i was the driver and he was in the pass. as i was shifting i felt a big cut off. i automatically knew that my intake was disconnected/popped out from my fmic. My bro-in-law is a turbo guy too. but his not for certain. i got underneath my car to hook it back on and i noticed that there was alot of black stuff in my intake. i pretty confindent that it was pitch black oil. It wasn't dripping out of my intake, but it was inside of my intake and very noticable when i putted my hand inside the intake. the car is basic bolt on and boosting 22 psi. Is that suppose to happen? Could it be the turbo, lines, or intake? should i get new parts? if so what would i need?

I don't know why your pipe came off, but the black stuff in the pipes could come from a number of factors including a crappy intake filter. Dunno if people are still using it, but the old HKS filters basically do $od all filtering for example.

well. i got an injen intake with a injen air filter. On top of that, this was the second time that happened to me. you see, the intake pipe that connects to the fmic fits, but it just keeps poping out.

what do you think a good namebrand / aftermarket oil catch would be?

dunno 'about injen filters, but I had the same thing going on with the gunky stuff. Changed filter and got it sorted.

Anyway, yeah, blow-by is probably what's doing it. I had an ARC catch can. Fits nicely, but uber expensive. IIRC, most work well. Price differences mainly from branding. Doesn't injen do one?
