im looking at this evo9 mr right now,but ive herd the 6speed sucks in these cars.is this true?and are there any other cons to the mr?

 

You heard right. No moonroof(pro or con depending on prefference). Preety much everything else is a pro. That and the price. That's a big con depending on what you're doing with it. If it's a daily or something of that nature/keeping the power closer to stock then grab it. But if you're mod ***** like me i wouldn't really bother.

 

yea i plan on modding it alot,it has 29,000 miles on it and they want 22k for it.

 

This thread is going to be shut down real fast bc this has been covered so many times...cons to the mr. hmmm well the 6-speed can be both a pro and a con depending on how you look at it. Sometimes I wouldnt mind having that 6th gear. There have been stories of issues with 4th gear on the 6 speed. People are overheating it. If you dont abuse your car and arent a road racer then i wouldnt worry about it. Plus you get a few extra goodies with the MR such as an aluminum rood. No sunroof on that model though which I would miss.

If I had to get another Evo or do it all over again I would get a GG 9 MR.

 

i dont plan on doing any road racing,just a fun street car,maybe 450hp max.should i be ok?

 

They also forgot to mention that cute little synchro for the 6th gear. Which looooves to give you a hard time.

 

hard time? i dont plan on going that fast to were i would have to **** it hard in 6th lol.So as long as i dont beat the **** out of my car everyday i should be fine with the mr tranny,also i dont plan on having this car as a drag *****,i only goto the track maybe once or twice a year.

 

There are no cons to an MR. It's an overall nicer package and I wouldn't hesitate to grab one over a regular Evo. Those who tell you otherwise are infatuated with the issues people have had with the tranny when tracking their car.
