Hello, my name is Andrew. I am currently deployed in Iraq. I'm looking for a whole new platform for car tuning and drag racing. I have a supercharged '06 Grand Prix. Seems the more tuning with the FWD car, the more trouble it is. I've burned 3 trannys so far, the trannys are crap. I Had a friend suggest a Evo 9, to my liking its a great car. Money is no issues here guys, I'm looking into buying from the Evo series. I read the newbie stickey, and there was a question that it didnt answer for me.

I'm trying to find out how reliable these cars are, how easy are the performance parts to get and which model is the best?

I'm stuck between the evo 9 and 10...any suggestions? My goal would be to get it in the low 11's ( easy from what I hear ) possibly still open for future mods into the 10's. also i'm confused on the models, ( RS, MR, GSR, GSR w/ SSL ).

Please help me in deciding the right evo for me and model. All suggestions and opnions will be greatly appriciated.

Yeahhh I like the 9 ...I'm stationed at FOB Falcon, just under baghdad.

 

If your looking at a str8 drag car go with a rs its the lightest of them all no power windows or anything. The mr come with a 6 speed tranny and a few other little nic nacs. The gsr is all power stuff with a 5 speed. The gsr w/ssl is the power stuff with the sunroof, sound package, and leather. And go with a 9
