I have an 2003 EVO8

My question is how much of a differents would a 9 turbo make in my set up.. like WHP..

and also should i get a 9 turbo or keep to 8 turbo and put cams in what would make better numbers?

Also would a ported Mani do alot of not really with my set up...

I'm going to be running

-255 fuel pump

-TBE

-FMIC w/ LICP

-K&N drop in Filter

-Maybe a ported Exhaust Mani? will it do alot?

I would skip the 9 turbo and opt for one of the available upgrades. I can't justify spending 1/3 a BBK's/Reds price on a stock turbo.

But to answer your question the gains would be great.

 

9 turbo would probably give you a good 30whp but get a o2 while you at it

 

So if one were looking to get better spoolup, but didn't care about more than an extra 3--40HP in top-end power, wouldn't an Evo9 grearly outperform the Evo8 (both 9.8 or 10.5)? Considering cost, it seems a fairly priced upgrade. Also seems the FP White is the ultimate "Spoolup" turbo upgrade, but at $1100, isn't cheap.

What about porting a 10.5T Evo8? Would it be worth it?

Well porting would help but not a significant difference

 

Faster spool, a little more HP and way cheaper price makes the 9 turbo a good short term add-on. If you can afford an FP Red or Green, though, don't wait.

 

i got a 9 and car makes decent power
