$24k for an X with 4,000 miles doesn't seem too far fetched. There was a dealership in Ohio that sold their last 3 new 2008 X's for $25k.

Mods on cars are fine, but I personally would rather do the mods myself rather than buy a car that already had them in place. Maybe I'm in the minority here, but I'd prefer a stock car that was regularly tracked than one loaded with ebay parts that was only driven around town. To each his own obviously.

Anyway, the reason for making the thread was to get some insight from as many people as possible and to share thoughts and experiences. So far it seems pretty successful.

Let's keep the discussion going.

Dude, it's in my driveway, come see it if you want, you can see the title if you want also. Why is it BS? I bought it off some guy that was in a bad spot. He owned it outright. I had cash. I showed him how Serramonte had new going to 27-28k, talked him to 24k cash. Tax is 6.5%, title plates etc maybe a hundred bucks. I don't finance. No mods. Already been to the dealer and got the newest factory flash.

Yes, private sale. I thought it was awesome myself, that is why I pulled the trigger. Go back through my posts. I had many discussions about this. I was set on a RA or WRX. Found this X for cheaper than those, and just figured it was the better buy. Added RA flaps and Ventureshield, now I am good to go. Maybe even hit BUSCHUR in the spring. Going to roll as is for a while to see if any issues creep up. I do have the seat staple issue but I think I can fix that myself.

It had 4k miles, not new!!

FYI, it did have a stone chip on the passenger door, fixed that with DR. COLORCHIP as well as the rear door and rocker road rash (from kick up). It also had an extremely mild ding on the rear quarter that a dent guy took out for $40 bucks. But I used all that to get the guy down from 25k. Hell the car was on EBAY for 3 straight runs with a buy it now of 27k and no one bought, so I just emailed him and went from there. I knew he was having trouble selling. I think cash deal with no finance really helped get it done though.

Believe me, I tried to buy a new X and could not get anyone to even come close to those numbers. 28500 was the best on an SSS but without the 0%. If I could do 0% obviously I would rather finance and keep cash on hand. Worked out well though.

My cousin picked up his X GSR last month for 27800. The deals are out there if you look at the right places for your ideal price. Learn to negotiate.
