Needs head gasket. not sure how head looks yet. dont know if i want to deal with valves and what not. Have not taken head off.

What would you all recommend doing while it is apart?

I hope to acquire this week. I have to call bank to find out.


This is my first Evo. I had a DSM before but didnt keep long.

 

if your going to pull the motor then replace with built motor of course. If your just pulling the head i would do head gasket apr head studs and replace head with a fully built head. If thats not a options then headgasket apr headstuds spring retainer upgrade camshaft upgrade and call it a day

i dont have a set goal.

I already have the HKS cams. Of course Headgasket will be replaced and i was gonna do ARP studs. i would have to see how much the head would cost me to do. Id love a Red turbo but cash is low. I already need to get wheels/tires/brakes for it. along with new Timing belt and some new fluids.

 

there is a guy selling a ported head for 800 for a evo 8. its stripped though so you would have to add all the internals again but still not to bad of a price.

 

hmm. ill see what i can find. might as well take advantage of this disassembly time
