Most Embarrassing Moments in the Evo
After i bought my IX I didn't have enough money to pay my 1.25 toll to cross from Ohio to PA (bought the car in OH). I was like 20 cents short, from change i had in my pocket.....
The one toll lady screamed just let him go - let him go! this old grumpy guy said no he owes me 20 cents and he is paying it! I'm like sir I don't have any cash, you don't accept visa - and I can't sit here all night? He said - we take checks..........
He made me write a check for 20 cents......I had traffic backed up behind me, and my gf was laughing her butt off in the passenger seat saying "you just bought new $30k dollar car and you don't have money to pay a 1.25 toll!" it's a good memory at least.

Stock hood......was doing some work under the hood and didn't latch my hood pins (still had the keys in the locks & I had disconnected the factory latch). Took my car to the grocery store since I don't drive it that much. Didn't pay attention to the hood. At about 30mph, you couldn't miss the hood flying up and smacking my windshield. So there I was driving down the middle of the street with my hood up in the air & I couldn't see a darn thing. Pulled over to the side and bent the hood back down. Actually had to sit on the hood to get one of the pins to latch so I could drive it home. Long story short, $5,000 worth of damage. But thanks to State Farm, I now have a badass CF hood

^ lol true that
here is my story i got my evo a year ago and i was extremely nervious. I had to fly up to philly to go pick it up then drive 22hours back to LA. so i was sweating like man this is going to be a rush my first turboed car i get in and it needs gas the dealer says to me theres a gas station up the road fill it up. I call my mom and she like just drive it slow till you get used to it. I planned on staying the night in georgia about halfway which my moms bf sister cause i could not sign papers etc and drive that far. So i drive up the road and everybody was like looking at me and stuff so im like i got to get used to this attention. The dealer told me use 87 and it will be straight. I did not have a book or anything so i filled up on 87 and drove all the way down to georgia 12hrs 700+ miles and filled up 2 times (87oct) on the way down. I thought 87 was kind of strange and it only cost me 52 YES 52 dollars per fill up on 87 once i get to alanta georgia gas was really low and the people that were letting me stay with them wanted a ride in the evo. We want to see how fast it is so im like cool why not push it. so we go on a joy Ride and im pushing this evo to see whats up and to kill the rest of gas so i can fill up. we get to yet another gas station and i go to fill up again and one of my passagers a evo lover (10yrs old) saw me getting ready to put 87 in and he is like DUDE WTF and im like what he like preminun only i stood there confused then he pointed at the FUEL door and i had a homer simpson moment DOooooooo i drove halfway home and punching the evo on 87 oct and never looked at the fuel door in big letters premiun only. Glad the evo has a low oct map from factory. Killing part is it only cost me 42 to fill up on higher oct gas haaa

when i first got the evo (first manual car) I would put my car in neutral waiting at stop lights, then when the light turned green I forgot it was in neutral and looked like an idiot revving my engine.
Dead center of town
Me and a friend of mine are downtown and about to take off.... Some hots girls sitting beside us.... he was driving and stall... Thats why I tell people to get some clutch besides the competition twin clutch... still to this day I stall if im not paying attention.
No embarrassing moments in Evo except stalling it twice in the 9 months I've owned it. I always thought it was unstallable but I proved myself wrong. Always feel like an idiot when I do it since it doesn't like to start back up real easily that that.
I've only had my car a couple of days so I can totally relate. I had a 5.5 hr drive (each way) to pick up my car so I had no time to read the manual. It took me a day to figure out how to lock the doors! I've never had anything like the FAST system so when the thing beeped at me, I figured it it was locking the doors....turns out that I wasn't turning the "key" all the way to the off position. hehe.
You thinks so? I went from an 01 325xi and I find the clutch much more forgiving. Even with the turbo lag the gearing in 1st is so low that I haven't managed to kill it in the first few days (this is a X, maybe your car is different). I had the tach down to almost 0 rpms but it came back to life when I pushed the clutch in just in time.

Here's mine: On the way home last night the dealer left me with no gas, so i had to stop and the gas station. I pull up and the person sitting next to me complemented my car then the gas attendant came over and i told him what i wanted, after that he went to my tank. Now i thought the gas lid was one of those that you just open and you didn't have to pop it open.. So he's like you gonna pop the gas tank open? I was like ohh yeah sorry forgot so i'm looking all over and i didn't see anything on the floor at first because it was dark. So i pulled the one under the dash. Thats where everything went wrong the hood popped up.. The guy was like uhh you just popped the hood not the gas tank. I was ohh i wanted to do that need to check something. So I turned the dome light on and i finally realized the ones on the floor. Of course i popped the trunk open instead to make it even worse... Then finnally the gas tank. So that goes to show you that i'm still a newb. I could see everyone laghing at me behind my back. So far thats my most embarrassing moment i had.

After i bought my IX I didn't have enough money to pay my 1.25 toll to cross from Ohio to PA (bought the car in OH). I was like 20 cents short, from change i had in my pocket.....

I was gettin out of my car and was on a slope leanin towards the passenger side, I opened the door, took my hand off the door and stood up to get out, and the fudgin door hit me square in my face!
lmao hilarious stories
well my most embarassing moment is when i 1st got the car i was stopped and there was a speed bump in front of me so i try to get going and i couldnt id go n then get pushed back by the bump(it was bigger than usual ones and its not like the ones made of concrete) so it took me bout 10 trys to get over the bump and when i diid it i revved my engine so loud lol and of course there was alot of ppl watchin so yeah that kinda sucked

Having to get used to the cams...
I stalled toying with an Dodge Caliber SRT...
I figured I give her the launcher, just coming out of it smoothly, I stalled it, not realizing that I needed to give it a little more rpm that I was used to.
