TT Evo X 450-550 rwhp
Heya, names Adam. I am 20 and currently reside in Florida. Hopefully for not too much longer. I am currently working on my Finance and Marketing degree. Two majors opens up my possibilities with how the economy is. I plan on joining the Marines this winter. I figure they can pay for my schooling while I serve. I only plan on signing a 4 year contract so I won't be too old when I get out, j/k. I am thinking about buying a 2009 Evo X. I definitely want to build a monster. The 450-550 horsepower range is my overall goal. Don't really want any more than that. I hope I learn a lot while I am a member here on Evolutionm.net. I also wouldn't mind making a few friends and getting to know some of you more.

are you trying to go reserve or officer? If you go reserve, it will take up some weekend time... they have a program, i think its called the bachelor completion program.... they pay for your college and you have to go to Quantico (sp?) VA for 2 summers for OCS training... i believe they require a 7 year term of service, when you graduate, if you make it, you get your commission as a 2nd lieutenant in the marines, which is pretty badass ... anyways dont quote me on that but i know they do have college programs like this...
an evoX is a big chunk of change and while you are in school i would HIGHLY suggest not to do that... save your money, finish school on time and buy whatever the hell you want after you graduate. do not join the military to buy an evoX
i made the mistake of buying a 36,000 sti while i was in college... i was living paycheck to paycheck and had to quit going to school so i could pay the car down... one of the worst mistakes i have ever made. i loved my sti, but i sold it and went back to school... thanks to my shenanigans, my 2 year hiatus from school set me back a while and my grandfather passed away before i could graduate which i really wanted him to see me do... so dont do what i did.
anyways, sorry for the long winded response...

By no means am I going into the Marines to become an officer. I am serving because I want to, I think it would be good for me to experience it, and I believe I can take a lot from it when I am done. I am going to be doing 4 years and then I am leaving. It's either the Marines or go into the Navy. Doing on shore/off shore rotations and while so doing online internet courses. Either way money is money and I won't really have an expenses, so I figure I can buy a car.
using the money from the navy/marines on a car is a terrible decision...
Also, you may want to look at other branches of the military... my ex girlfriend joined the air force. She gets better pay than navy or marines and the base she works on is very close to where she lives.
you have to keep in mind that enlisting in the military is going to take up more than 1 weekend a month... what about that monday make or break exam and you have to be on base for all of saturday and sunday? how can you study?
im not trying to persuade you from joining... by all means, serve the country, but seriously consider what you are thinking about doing.

I'm sure you've researched this a fair bit already but there are no 09 Evos and the remaining 08's are nearly sold. The 2010's will be out in a bit but I have a feeling that the dealers will be gunning for full sticker on them.
If I knew a few weeks ago what I know today, I would not have bought my X and would have been looking hard for a mint VIII or IV. Getting 450-500 out of a X is damn expensive but you'll find tons of options for the older models, not to mention the lower cost of getting into it.

If you're willing to venture out of state and hit up some of the dealerships here in Southern California, you will have access to a good supply of 2008s for below invoice. Fly here, drive it back, or have it delivered. They will take care of you here. One of the managers of South Coast Mitsubishi stated that they will be getting another shipment of 30 '08s very soon, and the '10s should be getting here within a month or so. Their MSRP is higher than the '08s though.

For the last time, I AM NOT JOINING THE MILITARY TO BE ABLE TO BUY ANY KIND OF CAR. If you join one branch over another just because the pay is better, then you have joined for the wrong reasons and should not be in. I thought joining the military was suppose to be all about
, but I guess its more about $$$$$ now a days.
And again, I AM NOT STAYING IN THE MILITARY NOR DO I WANT TO. I DO NOT WANT TO BECOME AN OFFICER. I don't know if people actually read what I write, but its asked best from rush hour two..."CAN YOU UNDERSTAND THE WORDS COMING OUTTA MY MOUTH?" Also, if I join the Navy and work in the Finance department, I would get off at a certain time and have time to do online classes. Online classes do not take up as much time as some think they do. I understand what the military is, and their jobs.
To those that did have positive things to say, yes, I accidently hit 09 instead of 08. I would love to have an EVO X and get to what I want, but it may just come down to not doing that at all. Buying a Genesis Coupe 3.8...using it for whenever I am home and then buying a 335 and doing all the performance modifications to it and making that sick instead. Not really sure. Thanks

Why don't you want to become an officer?
One of my buddies who was in the same fraternity as me in college joined the marines after graduating, but he went enlisted instead of OCS. Why? Because his dad was also enlisted, and he "wanted to **** **** up." However, about six months after becoming a marine, they pretty much made him sign up for OCS anyway because they were aware of his education.
