Two questions for an EvoIX (with pics!)

In reference to another thread I started...there is an EvoIX GSR I am looking at...

I know HID's only came on MR's and SE's. But I'm curious about the "blue-ish" lense in this picture. Would this have been stock on 2006 GSR? I'm thinking no, but I'm not sure...

Also, after comparing this engine bay with many others...I don't see anything out of the ordinary (except it being dusty). Anything weird that I am missing? Only thing I can think of is the green below the negative battery terminal...

All the IXs come stock with the HIDs. Only in 2005 did they offer the regular VIII with non HID bulbs if it wasn't an MR or SSL.

+2 on what xiaoni said, the projector lens is supposed to be there. And everything in the engine bay looks good.

But the thing Im interested aobout is the lens over the fog light (which is on the light all the way to the right) wtf??? Ive never seen that before. And it looks as though it is chromed??

all IX's do not come with HIDs or fog lights. the RS model does not have them. the MR, SE and i think the EVO IX did. (RS, EVO IX, MR and SE)

everything looks about right. the lens looks about the same as mine.

VMREVO9 is correct on the HID's.

I have a IX and can affirm they are NOT hid's. Only the SSL (Sun Sound and Leather) and MR came with HID's. AKA: if you have a sunroof and leather seats then you have HID's.

Engine bay looks very stock, however it looks like the coolant overflow bottle is low and so is the master cylinder. I would check all fluids, or better yet get a compression test done just to be sure.

2006 warranty: 5 year/60K miles bumper to bumper
10 year/100k warranty is voided unless your the original owner (which, since your buying it, you arent)

Thanks guys. Yeah the car is basically stock. Has a cat-back...stock cat still in place. Could have a drop-in filter, but I doubt it. Engine bay does look untouched...

Svendiesel: Perhaps its just the shade and reflection causing that lense to look chrome...

wrong.
in 2005 all evos didnt come with HIDs unless is was SSL or MR and for the IX only the SSL, MR, SE, MR SE came with HIDs...

the projector lens on your IX is different compared to an VIII...

but if your IX is not an MR, SE, MR SE, or SSL then you do not have HIDs...

I'm pretty sure all of the HID models have fog lights also, which is the circle all the way on the right. That headlight has a cap over that which means it doesn't have fog lights which also means no HIDs. Just projector headlights.

Gotcha. But I do think the 10yr/100,000 gets knocked down to 5yr/60,000 powertrain for other owners...

Car has 20,000 miles on it...

i thought the 10yr 100k warranty is for rust? or was this only on the IX?
when i bought my VIII used it came with the remainder of the 6yr/60k warranty...which is gone now... make good use of that warranty if you have it!!!

Looks like there was a MBC on the car before... The bov line looks split then recoupled.

The car most likely also had a catch can on the car. Theres a line on the bottom right of the valvecover, if you look closely the clamp isnt on.

Both are minor and shouldn't stop you from wanting this car, just know its been played with before.. Just like 99.5% of evos.

Cheers!

+1 to this. i too have terminal protectors but on both + and - . also came with a little gel that you can apply to prevent corrosion.
