Need Some Advice on Evo X

Hi,
I’m looking at very seriously purchasing an Evo X. A very good friend (with an Evo IX) clued me in to this site.
Intended use: Daily driver and occasional track car.
Intended Modifications: Suspension and chassis, maybe some minor engine mods later.
So, I would like to throw out a few questions to you folks own them.
First – GSR vs. MR or stick vs. paddle? Pros and cons to each?
Do you know the unsprung weights of the corners?
In stock trim, where is the CG? Assuming full load of fuel and driver (say 170 lbs).
Has anyone measured the torsional (x lbs/degree) and bending rigidity of the chassis?
What is a good starting setup for a track day, chassis rake, target corner weights, camber, toe…..? I’m not sure just yet what can be adjusted in stock trim.
Your site has some great info on the different shock and spring combinations. I have only scratched the surface.
Also - Is the MR offered in the US in Rotor Glow Orange? Wife and Daughter love the color.
Thanks,
Don

If you dont plan to go further then just over 300 whp and if the wife cant drive a stick, go with the MR. If your looking for a power car, go with the GSR.

Occasional track car? Are you sure? Those are pretty specific questions I would only worry about if I was getting serious into tracking a car.

You may want to look at Gates311 Evo X, since it is "the end all, be all" of Evo track cars on here.

Personally, unless I lived somewhere where traffic was crazy, I wouldn't even think about the MR. Not worth the cost. Also, until a good solid solution comes out to the overheating problem the SST has, not a good track car. MR is the touring car (hence the touring model for 2010). And from looking at their site, rotor glow is available for all models of the X.

Yeah after reading your entire post it seems as if you want an all out track car lol... and then it concerned me that you say your wife and daughter likes Rotor Glow, so I was thinking I doubt your wife and kid will enjoy the ride after you're done with that suspension setup

So to sum it up, I would suggest the GSR trim is what you're looking for!

And well, I thought MR and MR Touring weren't going to come Rotor Glow, but I might be wrong after UT_Evo mentioned the opposite above

Hardly, I don't think I've seen one asking for this info... ever.

And you're right jazket... I just clicked on colors and assumed they would say if it wasn't available on a particular model, going into build it is only on the GSR. Blue isn't available on the MR or MR touring either... Lame. Hate when car companies do that.

for an occasional track day, the evo x is perfect in stock form with the exception of a tune. you're family might enjoy it that way as well.
