First I would like to thank you for developing a wonderful car. Thanks to the quality of the design of the 10th generation of evolutions I was able to avoid a side impact at speed by swerving to avoid a TC owner who does not look both ways before making a left hand turn into traffic. Despite performing a very sharp turn at speed the car stayed in complete control and I was able to avoid hitting the car and going up onto the median.

Attn: *insert string of expletives* other driver… who finished his left hand turn and drove off.
Despite my best efforts to avoid your moronic driving and protect my property I still ended up rubbing my rim against the curb and scratching my bumper. If you should ever have something nice I hope some idiot *expletive*’s it up for you.

P.S. I know where you live.

Ok, last night I was pissed but handling it surprisingly well. Took some photos in my garage last night and the damage to the rim looked bad. However, this morning I looked at it after I drove to work and the damage doesn’t look bad at all. Not trilled about the condition of it and it probably needs to be rebalanced for high speeds.

The damage to the bumper is not really noticeable and is totally cosmetic. I have a $500 deductable and I’m not really planning on selling the car and was going to buy some other rims for the street anyway and keep the BBS as track/winter rims or visa versa, stuff happens and all that and the car was never intended to be a VIP garage queen.

I think I’ll just chalk this one up to thank God it wasn’t worse.

You can get rims fixed, so you can not even tell they were damaged, for $100 or so out here. I mean full on weld repairs. Might be worth it, especially if you can find a deal.

I know there are places that repair rims, I imagine Aluminum rims might be a tad more expensive as it is a bit more trickey to weld (aluminum sheets anyway not sure about wheels), any suggestions on how to find one, anyone in the NOVA/DC/MD area know a good wheel shop?

I had the exact same outcome on my car, except, the idiot was ME! I hit a curb at low speed in a Burger King Drive Through in NJ and I ended up scraping 1/5th of the rim's circumference and a bruise on the side of my Front Aero Lip.

The rim damage is not apparent, especially when the wheels are clean. As for the front spoiler damage on its side, I just covered it up with a decal that I got when I ordered my Ferodo Pads.

If all you lost was paint, I suggest you look into covering it up with a Decal as a temporary fix. In my case, I know an aftermarket aero kit is in the future and I wasn't gonna spend the deductible for the overpriced factory piece.

I used to live in Aldie, VA and I could not find a decent shop to do mine. Granted, I di not search hard enough, but do it only if you're gonna notice it. Keep using it for about 2 months, and if you still feel you cannot live with it, then get it done.

I know how it feels, literally, but time heals everything.

Sounds to me like you should THANK YOURSELF it wasn't worse. Give credit where credit is due man.

I had a similar thing happen to me (but I was in my '01 f150 4x4 with two mx bikes in the back). The older person (70s to 80s) looked right at me (I was going 60 in the left lane on a bi-way), and he SLOWLY pulled out and made a left turn in front of me. Keep in mind this is in the middle of no where. I was tired and beat from riding... long story short, I missed him by a few inches. And he drove off like life was great. I swear he was trying to commit suicide.

LOL, I have so many "old people" jokes. But I fear they will always come back to bite me when I'm old. I wonder if we'll drive like that too when we're old. I've seen some old people drive really well, I just hope I fall into that category when the time comes.

This is how I know you live in NOVA...

I feel you man, everyday is a freaking battle dodging idiots. My heart sank a little when I read you still got a boo-boo on your baby... Glad it wasn't worse! Good luck on the repairs mate.

I bought a set of older OZ Supertourismo wheels from someone, which had bends on all four wheels. Weldcraftwheels.com is a company in Michigan that fixes wheels. They are one of the best in the country. People from all over the world mail in their wheels to these guys. They do so much, check out their website to see what I'm talking about.

My wheels cost $65 per wheel to fix. And my wheels are pressure casted aluminum. They can do your BBS' no problem.

Make sure you didn't bent the strut or anything.

Thanks I'll look into it.

Took IT to the dealer for an inspection and an alignment. Car wasn't even out of alignment and no structural damage. All cosmetic.

The damage really is on the very bottom portion of the front bumper. Does the stock SSS front lip just fit over the stock bumper?

If its towards the side, I strongly suggest covering it up with a Decal. You might as well spend the money on a cool aftermarket product when you really want to take the plunge.
