Yes, very safe. Like I said though, it doesn't like launching and the 1/4, but if you change the fluid regularly and give it time to cool down if you are beating on it on a long course it will be fine. It can take launching (just to be clear), just give it time to cool. The input shaft bearings can also be a problem, but that is when you are doing some aggressive downshifting at high speeds. Even then, it can take it to a point.

you'll be fine
and torque destroys trannys, not hp (although they usually go hand in hand, unless it's a turbo diesel truck lolz)

you'll like it.

haha - The local used car dealer in town was trying to advertise an 04 VIII with a "stage 4" turbo setup. I said "wow" that's amazing! Its just short of a stage 5! Thats un-"f"-ing believable dude

This wouldn't be the 06 IX MR at Momentum BMW off of 59, would it?

Drove it the other day. Nice IX. Seemed in good condition, although those aftermarket springs in the trunk kind of worried me... what other mods were done and then removed?

When I got back from the test drive, there were two other people lined up to drive it. The sales guy said he couldn't believe how many people were interested in a Mitsubishi.

Problem is, $25K is too much for that car, even if it is a nice IX MR with low miles. Alas, it's still for sale--it's now on eBay, not auction format, but "advertised price". They don't seem willing to deal, either, but that will resolve itself as the car sits on the lot. Too bad. Would have been a nice platform for an HPDE car.

29400? He doesn't want to sell or he was on drug. You can find an very clean evo 9 for 25k or little less on this forum(check out car for sale section). Yeah, somelike brand new man.
Btw, you gotta stop using that "stage" word, that's subie/cobb thing. Hate that word...lol

Actual pricing aside, I don't think that you fully understand the Evo market. It's not a 06 Evo; it's an Evo IX. There's a difference. You're looking at this like a typical car buyer. There's nothing wrong with that, however, typical car buyers don't buy and own Evos. A IX is the last of its breed. Nine generations of Evolutions boiled down to that model. That may not mean much to you, and it's understandable as well, but there are folks more than wiling to pay a premium for a very clean, well-maintained IX. Hell, if I were buying a used Evo knowing what I know, I wouldn't even debate spending a few more grand for the right car.

That's like 2K in mods I think, don't think you need a fuel pump but I could be wrong.
you don't need a fuel pump for this setup. It's only when you wanna go like e85 or ethanol injection when you need a pump if I'm not mistaken.

I do fully understand the EVO IX, im not a typical car buyer I own a sti because I like these type of cars, im aware that this is not your typical sedan, i do my research but to say 29,400 including my trade is ludicrous..my 08 sti has a payoff of 28,000 exactly, there car is 24,900, do the math, that just stupid to pay that much DONT GET ME WRONG THOUGH im willing to pay a little extra for a "rare" vehicle, im just not willing to get *** raped for it.

on a sidenote, assumptions and generalizations get thrown around forums so easily nowadays

The dealership is asking way too much in my opinion. You can find a nice clean IX for around 21-23k. Also, like everyone said, get a TBE, MBC, and a nice tune and you'll be set. And if you want more power, you can always go for some aggressive cams.

<grin> I wrote the comment for a reason, just as I specifically excluded the price. Good luck. I hope everything works out.
