That specific Evo is now sold. Did you buy it? Found out it was sold right when I decided to make an offer...

I didn't see anyone answer it... Stage 2 on an STi is what... wait for it... wait for it... okay, I hope you know, but it's TBE and tune, and some throw in a filter/intake. Regardless, it sounds like you will be very happy with the Evo. To my knowledge the MR trannies only have problems with heat. So unless you are track racing the car, it shouldn't matter much if you stay under 400 whp.

Good luck man, the IXs a great ride!

on a sidenote, assumptions and generalizations get thrown around forums so easily nowadays
Lastly, I was in your shoes going from the Porsche trying to get back into one of these two cars.

X wasn't bad, but I didn't trust Mitsu and their warranty to pay for one, and I liked the GR better... But what I really wanted was a sub 25k mile GSR IX... The cheapest I found was one right at 25k for 23k. 24.9k for an MR in good shape with low miles is a pretty good deal. Not trying to discourage you, just giving you my own advice, I searched for 6 months within 500 miles. Finally found a dealer owned GR with 6500 miles on it for 28k and couldn't pass on it. Especially since they gave me a pretty damn good deal on the Porsche.

Point is: 24.9k for a sub 25k mile MR in good shape is NOT *** rape. Not even close. At least not 6 months ago when I was looking, and the 6 before that while I was looking.

But if you are willing to travel, and can be patient, you'll find the deal you want. A guy here sold one with 11k miles on it for 19k. All stock, one owner... You just gotta find someone either desperate to sell, or who doesn't care about the car anymore (as was the case with this guy).

Their not even giving me what my car is really valued at, what im going to do is PRIVATELY sell my car, get more money for my car, save up some cash, and i will be patient and wait for the evo i want, I want to fly out there and pick it up, and make a road trip out it! anyone down?

Again, car is sold, although eBay auction is still live. Right when I got serious about buying it, it sold. My loss. It really was a nice IX MR.

My sti is sick as hell but i wouldnt mind trading it in for a decent price, i dont appreciate being *** raped on a deal so im just gonna lay low im not stressing to get it i like my sti. I know how much they got for it too so their just being ******, the owner is a real cool dude he told me the whole story bout the EVO, no accidents nothing, cept he hit a deer and had to replace the right headlight lol

but anyways....it does look badass eh?

From my experience in H-town there's no such thing as a lightly modded and babied EVO. All were driven hard and lovin it on trips around the beltway and "MEXICO" lol.
