turbo glowing please help

turbo glowing please help

i was on a dark road the other night and i was trying to adjust my mbc and i looked in between the headers from the top down and i saw something glowing and it was the turbo i guess, and now i look at at it everytime i get done driving and it seems to be at least alittle red well during the day it looks a little red but that night it was really red, i'm not pushing mor than 20 - 21 psi on 93 octane and i have the ngk 2023 plugs now and it still seems to be glowing at least a little is this ok i sont know i never owned a turbo before

hmmm as far as I've heard it just gets like that from getting really hot, but I don't think it's a problem or anything, but I'm not an expert....

This is normal. All turbo's glow bright red when being driven.

in mast cases it has to do with the twin scroll design and flowing that much hot air buy it.. It shouldn't raise a problem unless the turbo begins to turn white. If it is that much of a concern to you swap out the turbine housings to that of a single scroll. This would allow for more exhaust flow at higher rpms, and in turn will allow the metal to cool easier or atleast give it a better opportunity to cool. Just my two cented assumption

just thought of something else, if you want to keep the twin scroll design, jsut throw on the titanium housing from the Euro/JDM market. That housing was designed to cool better then what is on the US cars, why it's not an option here I couldn't tell you
