New guy saying hello!
New guy saying hello!
Howdy folks,
My name is Aria, and I picked up my first evo about 3 weeks ago so I finally found it fitting to put up an introduction thread and say hello to everyone.
I'm 24 years old and am finishing up my masters at University of Michigan for Mechanical Engineering. I've been working for the past 11 months at Toyota as a chassis engineer for Tacoma and Tundra, but I"ll be heading back and finishing up my last year of school shortly.
I've been working on cars since I was 16, here are some of the "honorable mentions".
93 Del Sol Si: Built D16z6, GT2871RS turbo, made in the ballpark of 300whp and was quite fun. Was sold after about 3 years of ownership and then promptly wrecked.

1998 Canadian Spec Integra type R: Lots of chassis mods and a built head, made 191whp on a mustang Dyno. Was very fun but a bit too hardcore for daily use. I sold this when freshmen year of college and picked up my first DSM.

1998 Eclipse GST: Bolt on galore for the stop turbo. Was quite for what it was, but started to have some reliability issues and I had to let her go. Still one of my favorite cars I've ever owned though.

2003 Civic Si: Fun daily driver with basic bolt ons. Nothing major, I just needed a reliable car to get me around for a while.

I recently got the opportunity to buy my first evo for a STEAL and I just couldn't pass it up. In 3 days, I managed to sell the civic locally and pick up the evo.
She is a bone stock, 2003 Evo with only one owner and 80K miles. Only "mod" was the MR suspension the previous owner had put on by mitsubishi when the stock struts went back. She's going to get a few bolt ons and be an AWESOME daily! So far I've done a DIY evo 7 taillights, AEM intake, and a lip/vortex generator combo. She might get a turbo back in the coming year (or possibly at the shootout from Buschur), but other than a tune she's going to stay pretty stock.

I've been lurking on this site for about 3 years now, and am pretty happy to finally become a member of the evo family!

Haha, yup, I've realized that!
Nothing major, but with some left over money from selling the EP3's parts, I ended up throwing a few parts on the evo. An AEM intake (just the filter adapter/head shield/6" filter), a new lip, and cut up some vinyl for a DIY Evo VII tails.

See you guys at the shootout! (for those who are coming).

Haha, I have to agree with you on that one. Only other Evo in the area that I know of belongs to my co-worker. Much more rare than STI's, at least in the Ann Arbor area.
