Question for Stock Exhaust System
Question for Stock Exhaust System
Hey everyone, I need to replace a downpipe that'll fit in to stock system. Is the evo 8 downpipe the same as the evo 9? If so, I was thinking about using this to swap. The guy says the pipes should fit the stock system, just the piping is about 1" bigger.
I'm just looking for a cheap fix since my current exhaust fails the state ref test (CA state law states an after-market exhaust can't be louder than 95dB)
EDIT: Realized my post didn't seem that clear, someone told me that the evo 9 exhaust cannot be interchanged with the evo 8, is this true?

2005 evo 8s and 2006 evo 9s have the same design downpipe.and.can be interchanged. You can see a difference compared to 2003-2004 evo 8 downpipes.
What year is your evo and the guys who downpipe u want to buy?
Also search. This topic is discussed soo much.

Right now I have a Perrin aftermarket exhaust, and it's a lot bigger/louder than the stock one. The stock exhaust should be under 95dB, but if not, usually the state ref will let stock systems slide.
