Trying to find a clutch that lasts???
Trying to find a clutch that lasts???
I need to get a new clutch for my 9mr. I have some bolts on's and put down 305/315. I might do a little more to the car with a max of about 350/350. I drive the car everyday and put about 15-20k a year on my car. I like that the exedy twin will handle power but having to rebuild it every year is going to get costly. I do drive my car hard and will take it to the track a couple times, i dont know if i should go with the act, stock, or the twin. Long story short i need something that will last 50k+. What set ups are you guys running and what mileage?
i would recommend the Exedy Twin Disc HD Clutch.
how do you figure you have to rebuild this clutch every year?
I personally know many people including myself that use this clutch and they have never had to rebuild it and I know they are driving on it well over a year

Both of my cousins have the exedy twin, one on an evo X (410whp md) and another on a 350whp (gst mustang dyno) wrx. The wrx has been running it for a couple of years and has not had to rebuild.
The exo X has only had if for 4 months but I drove it and am a big fan of the feel of that clutch.
I have a Carbonetic twin on my evo IX mr and have had it for almost 20k miles and about 2.5 years. This clutch is awesome and holds 450whp (md) no problem. I don't daily drive it and cannot speak from personal experience how long it will last before needing a rebuild, but from what I understand the carbon clutches tend to last longer and have the potential to last 50k+
just my 2 cents

you can't go by what "most" people say...
you have no idea's as to how people drive, or how much power they make....
I know I have had mine in for more than a year bout 1.5 and my car is making 501 and 480 on a dyno jet and my clutch is holding perfect fine and I dd my car....
it just depends on how abusive someone is on the clutch... i have been to the track like 5 times and i don't launch the hell of out my car..

so im looking at the MB7-HDSS and the MB7-XTSS with the 20% drivetrain loss the hdss should hold 406 tq at the wheels. After i do a couple things i wanted to do i should be at lie 370 wtq. am i getting to close to the limit? should i go the xtss or the xdg6?
