hey guys im looking at possibly getting an 06 ix mr apexi silver with some mods..

its got hks cams, exhaust, dropin in filter, upper fmic pipe, buschur tune

and an exedy twin disc clutch that needs to be rebuilt since its starting to slip after 30k or so..

car has about 45k miles and is a 1 owner that had a small collision where he was clipped and the bumper had to be replaced.. autocheck is clean with an 83 out of 88..

the guy wants 18k and i still have to rebuild the clutch for 500 so.. 18.5k for a 06 mr..

what do u guys think as far being a worthy deal or not??

is there anything i should be weary of on mr's?

that what i said.. but his response was buschur said thats typical of the twin discs and that he got preety good life (30k) out of a twin disc.. i tried reading up on it and i believe thats what guys were saying too that they simply dont last as long.. correct me if im wrong..

 

Yea the clutch slipping already thats kind of weird...is the 1 owner young? like early 20's? I mean the price sounds pretty good though. I drive an 05 MR and the only thing i dont like is the 6 speed. So im buying a shep 5 speed. Just my input...good luck

 

2 things come to mind for me first,the wreck..i would thouroughly check under front of car for anything that is bent or missing,like the zero lift kit,while it may be minor,things like that add up especially if you want to keep it mint,2nd i would be wary of a slipping clutchat 30k,that usually means he was droppin it hard or
was ridding it hard,either way other problems can arise,such as transfer case probs and tranny probs...all minor probs that can be fixed of course for a few grand but,like i said these things add up... gl with your purchase

I would be leary given the clutch is slipping the guy who owned it before was probably pretty hard on the car.
