Who has removed their hood vent?

A friend of mine has his hood vent removed and I was wondering how many of you all have removed yours?

I just removed mine and I was wondering if there are any negatives for doing this...

Your fine if you have a stock hood. I took my hood vent out for a few months (3-4) when I first got my car and now have a bunch of hairline cracks around my carbon fiber hood. I believe it was from how hot the engine gets.

I have seen more Evos without than with. I prefer mine in for 3 reasons: 1. It's functional, it creates a pressure when there is airflow over the top (i.e. When driving) that pulls the hot air out. 2. It prevents people from loking at your engine. 3. Prevents water from sitting on your VC.

I live in Tucson, here the rain is so random they by the time you realize it's going to rain, it's too late. The problem? The water steams and fogs your windshield while your driving. That is No Bueno when on the freeway.

So do you see noticeably cooler temps with rather than without? I was under the impression most people removed them for cooling purposes.
