im thinking about doing my 60k service at 45k because i want to do cams at the same time, i figured i would save because i want to do cams and springs around that time, might as well get the 60k out of the way.

I'm actually doing it right now (in the garage with the laptop). I was on here looking for the torque specs for the water pump (which is 14 lbs/ft btw) when I ran across this. I always do the water pump whenever I do a t-belt. It would suck to do the t-belt and down the road your water pump goes bad. Might as well do the t-stat and coolant hoses...accessory belt, tensioners, etc. You could even do the camshafts if you planned on it down the road.

Do the water pump while thing is apart for the timing belt. My pump was starting to leak out the weep hole at 45K miles.

I didn't do the water pump at 60k, It was done at 120k as recommended in the maintenance schedule. I don't plan to do it at 180k. I'll likely wait until 240k before doing it again. Mine didn't have any issues at the time that it was pulled as far as I know, so it just seems like a waste of money to me.

I agree. My friend decided to hold off on the timing belt of all things and now just 600 miles after his 60k it broke. Def don't sell yourself short!

Lol Funny stuff ODUB ! I did mine at around 55k, but it just so happened I was doing cams, headstuds, larger turbo etc. all at the same time. So if your only at 45-50k and planning to do cams then just do it all at once and do the water pump. Better safe than sorry.
