tsx to evo
the cosmetic differences go a little something like this:
MR, and SE come with BBS wheels. The MR comes with gray BBS wheels, while the SE and MR SE come with something called Diamond Black (looks silver).
the SE also has red stitching on the seats, and a different front lip (SE LIP, do a search and you'll see the differences).
The brakes are all identical, but the MR and MR SE get brake air guides.
The MR and MR SE also get the vortex generator at the rear of the roof to aid in downforce over the wing. those two also get the Zero lift kit which includes a gurney flap on the edge of the wing for downforce, and an air damn below the front bumper.
The SE, MR, and MR SE also get bilstein shocks, but all EVO's use the same springs. The bilsteins have a more comfortable ride, and also produce more grip.
RS, SE, MR, and MR SE also use an aluminum roof panel
SE, MR and MR SE come standard with HID's
the standard IX does not have HID's, but can get HID's with the addition of the SSL package which also adds leather, a better sound system, and a sunroof.
The six speed is offered on the MR, and MR SE. these do not come in EB, but do come in WW
If you want EB, you'll have to get a 5 speed. WW is offered in every model though.
yes, if you want the 6speed, you have to get an MR, or MR SE. either is available in WW, neither is available in EB.
the color choices are WW, RR, GG, and AS for the MR. For the MR SE you can also get TB in addition to those other colors named.
I too wanted EB, but when I found out it wasn't offered, I went with GG. couldn't be happier. When I get another one, It'll most likely be WW. I've outgrown my need for a blue car lol

NP, glad I could help. I personally love TSX's. I almost bought one before the EVO, but after driving it, I couldn't do it. I couldn't see spending $30k on a car that was slower than my 4cyl honda accord at the time with I/H/E. I used to track the accord (full suspension, some other crap, etc) and it was great in the corners, but nothing on the straights. I needed something good in both, so I went with the EVO.
I did finally get a TSX though. My accord was involved in a 7 car accident (my gf was driving it), got totalled, so with the money I replaced it with a 2004 silver TSX. Beautiful cars. I wanted an ABP TSX though, so I could do an accord type R conversion on it, but it was not to be lol
I got the TSX for my gf, and she loves it. Good luck with the search.

the TSX is actually a very good car for road racing. Real Time racing has all but dominated the World Challenge series for the past 8 years in the TSX. They are also very competative in other road racing series too. they just aren't the greatest straight line cars, add some power, and the right suspension setup, they can be very fast on a road course...still won't be the fastest thing on the street, but as a track car it can be good.
