No Boost In Neutral When Reving???
Hi I've read and seen some videos of other evos in neutral reving and seen that the boost gauge goes up with the rpm whenever engaging on the gas. Question is mines doesn't do that. I will rev on the gas and the boost will not hold with the rpm, it just simply jumps back into negative vaccum up then back down even if i rev it in the high rpms. My car is all stock with no mods just an ecu reflash. I have stock MR gauges. Is this normal or not. Thanks for the feedbacks in advance.
I forgot to add, car is running fine when its in gear I have no problem with boost.

two step launch control will help with your problem. when the ecu was reflashed they could have turned it on and you can build boost while sitting still, its great for racing from a dig or the track...i believe my two step sits at around 5500 rpms and while stagging i build around 10 psi of boost

Liqquid and evonky, he clearly says in his first post that he is in neutral. Yes, a two step will help launch, however, you have to be in first with the clutch depressed in order to have this occur. If in neutral it is completely worthless to be building boost.
To the OP, your car is fine. You should not want to build boost in neutral, its a waste. Since you have an 2006 your car has a factory stationary rev limiter (what others have called a two step) which will help build some boost. When you are going to perform an actual launch push the clutch in, shift into first gear, and then depress the gas pedal. If your stationary rev limiter is still active and not turned off by the tuner it will stay at 5500 RPM unless the tuner changed it otherwise.

I have a X but I can free-rev and you can hear the BOV cycle with a bit of air. There is some load on the engine (spinning up the flywheel) just not very much at all, it is more obvious with a SRI/CAI. Still there is no reason to do it...
