Hello everyone!
Just introducing myself...
I traded in my modded 06 STi in august for a new phantom black 2010 Evo X handling package... my poor subaru was not doing so good (ie: 6L of oil vanishing in 2000miles...) and after the hassle of no warranty and such through subaru I decided I would try the Evo! (I ironically work in service for Subaru, and can't even get my own warranty,so I am now considered a giant traitor... ohwell..)
Of course I can't shake the desire to modify ... so far on my Evo I've put on downpipe, test pipe, exhaust, intake, went with a Cobb tune for now (I enjoyed the possibilities on my sti with cobb, so figured it would be decent), rally armor mud flaps,... other than that, just starting to get the winter-time dreaming of what to do in spring... I have a whole set of defi's to go in this summer, and after someone dropped something on my hood the other week and damaged it, I have a CF hood on the way too... other than that, who knows what's next... hard to kick the modding habit that's for sure.
Anyways, my knowledge of Evos is pretty poor, I definitely have more of a Subaru background, so I am hoping to learn more about mitsu's

I'm also located in Canada, and I also winter drive the crap outta my Evo lots of fun!

cheers ladies and gents!

Hey Shortie!!!

Sounds like your off to a good start, I would recommend ditching the Cobb and getting a custom tune though. You will be very glad you did.

Good Luck with it!

Check out the modding for dummies thread shortie.

I definitely am enjoying it so far. my only real issue is the fact that the seats are so low and I am so short, there are time's I wonder if I can even see out the windows.
maybe I will post a pic (of the car.. jeez..) later.

Sup shorty!

Smart choice trading in the Subi for an Evo! Wish my wife would do the same (she has a modded '07 WRX Limited)...

Thats funny you say that, I got my uncle a used toyota highlander 2001 with 38k miles back in 2006, about two years laters at about 49k miles after an oil change at a dealership, 500 miles later oil light comes on he was 2 quarts low, took it back to the dealer the changed the oil again, and again 500 miles later 2 quarts low again, they asked him to leave it, they changed to oil again, they kept it and drove it for 500 miles, and again 2 quarts low, they called toyota headquarters to see if they would allow them to work on it and have it covered as a courtesy, toyota said ok, 8000 dollars and 3 weeks later, the still couldn't figure it out, toyota asked to have the motor shipped back to japan for evaluation and in exchange he would get a new motor at no cost, toyota foot the bill for it. The car was out of warrenty at 36k miles, 2k miles before he even bought the car. He is now a loyal toyota customer for life.

Subaru and Mitsubishi warranties are nothing but toilet paper.. sorry to say.

I spent a good time with my evo this weekend taking advantage of some nice weather (nice- is a relative term in northern canada), and am already feeling the urge for more power... so off to reading I go, not sure where to go from what I have, but I'm sure I can figure it out on here

Exhaust would be most peoples step 1

Depending on how you want to tune it a tactrix cable or AP

I've done tbe, intake, stage 2 with cobb... I am dangerously thinking about a turbo upgrade now... but am hoping to stay mostly stock internals (for the most part) - ie: nothing ridiculous.... this is a horrible hobby...
