what transmission do you plan on using? are you gonna maintain the rwd or swap subframes and try and go for a awd set up?

I mean anything is possible. Here is a link to a Civic that went 4G63 with AWD from an Eclipse.

The civic was fast, but that thing only wieghs like 2000 lbs. haha. Anyway, It will be a tough swap. The Germans use totally different size fitings and everything, but it can be done.

Good Luck with whatever you choose to do.

agreed but id do a 2.8 m52 motor, build that motor and put 16ilbs of boost on it, a nice 6262 turbo on that and tons of tunning and youll be really glad you never touched the 4g63 swap ( wiring harness and getting gagues to work are a real pain man )

At the buschur shootout, there was a e30 with a 4g63 swap in it. I forgot the shop's name.

im going to change only engine, transmission and rear lsd will be bmw stock

maybe turbocharging m50 is easyer, but... this engine is broking without boost, imagine what will happend with boost.

i think that:

1) car will be lighter with with 4g63
2) some engine weight will go to the rear wheels (for little) because 4g is shorter then m50
3) i think i can beat m3 in drag and in circute

im thinking abot 4g64 with evo head and 88mm or 100mm cranks
what do u think abot this? i think destroked 2.1 will be great for circute.

It's possible obviously but it's far from cheap even if you have the engine.

Building a turbo BMW will be cheaper and is not as expensive as you think it is. Plus Inline 6's are one of the sweetest engines out.

If I was to do a swap in an E36, I'd do a 2JZ Supra motor and trans.

if you want a rock a lighter engine people are making good good hp 500+ on m42's with huge boost. F1 used to use the m10 and m42's and would boost the crap out of them and get 1200 hp. if you want a 4 cylinder look into m42's but i wont stop watching if you stick with a proven 46g3.
