To my goal of 375-400whp

well i set a goal of 375-400 whp, and this is the stuff i have already have. turboXs tbe, oem manifold to replace the megan headers that came with the car, mistimoto intercooler. the things im getting the next time around are hallman mbc, walbro, injen uicp/licp+intake, injectors 1000cc. but my question is. What would be a good set of cams for that goal? and is the stock clutch good for that?

dont get the injen intake get the perrin intake, proven to make more power over the injen. on a 9 the gsc s2 make one of the best power. the stock clutch might slip, might not, but if it does get an exedy twin hd. replace your o2 housing with either an easy nvidia 02 or a dump like map or others. make sure your dpipe is 3" and you either run a 3" milspec hi flow cat or testpipe. and of course the tune.

get rod bolts and check for boost leaks and a tune.

so if i ditch the injen, should i get just an licp(ets, ams, buschur) sense ive herd that an aftermarket uicp does really yield any gains.

GSC S2's or Kelford 272 are probably your best bet

the injen licp is fine, and the upper just looks nice but no gains really unless you go short route. The short route will make the air movement shorter and works less hard to get the air movin so improved response. Is it worth it? i dont care for it really. your battery would need to be relocated or go with a mini kit. not needed in my opinion.

id advise to get all these parts done and tuned and working well before you get a turbo right away.

port the stock intake manifold and exhaust manifold for more gains also. If money is no object, get a magnus v5 for your intake manifold. otherwise ported stock will do. and of course it'd make sense to change the turbo/o2 housing and dp at once to save the labor of 02 removal and then take out the turbo another time. cams and beehive springs.
after all these pieces are together then tune and get your turbo. fp red will do the job well or a green. the red has more growth potential and great for the s treet. e85 will get you there way too easy, on pump youll get there too.

its all about the supporting mods.
cams can gain a ton of power
ported exhaust/intake can gain a ton of power
magnus v5 gains even more power
proper flowing exhaust gets good gains
e85 gains power
3.5" ic
perrin intake
fic injectors
fp red. all this will yield you 400 on pump easily and at least 450 on e85 with conservative setup

you dont need speed density or any crazy items for these goals. but nothing matters if you dont get a good tuner. work with tscompusa, mellon, 4wstuning to name a few. you have to keep your timing safe, boost not insanely high for stock block and knock as low as possible or 0 if you can. otherwise,

get a wideband at the minimum and learn how to log data. a perfectly tuned 280 whp evo will be waaay more fun , healthy and responsive than a high knocking, poor idling, bucking 400whp evo.

and dont run mobil 1 for your fp turbo choices.

pardon the rant, jus trying to save you the headache of searching 100 threads for this
make sure to get headstuds and rod bolts.

nothing wrong with injen intake and upper ic you will make power with them. I make plenty. now the licp is alittle whack so i would definatly replace that part with something else ams ets etc. to make 400whp is really easy. so will not take much to get there easiest way is a turbo upgrade as already stated fp red for sure to get it done with mininal mods required

I gained ~5whp with a ets uicp.

I would sugest at least 1200cc injectors. They will let you grow a lil more and will still work well with the stock ECU.

Cams would put me over the 400mark but dollar/whp cost doesn't make since to me right now since I'm still on stock turbo.

I'm at 398/401 E85
......... 338/325 91oct

Megan Racing o2 housing
Megan Racing DP
test pipe
B&B Exhaust
Buschur LICP
ETS UICP
Apexi filter
1000cc injectors (wish I had 1200's)
AMS fuel rail (not needed)
Walbro 250l fuel pump
ACT HD Clutch cerametalic full disc

I personally, would do the Timing Belt, Water Pump, Headstuds and Comp 272's if your on a budget. Comp's drop right in with your stock valve train and work better than any BC crap. And you also give yourself 60k miles after your mods to not worry about maintenance items.

On the Mustang Dyno at the shop I've seen numerous 325whp cars go 11.40's-11.70's no problemos trapping high teens to low 120's. Driver mod, and smart effective mods on your car go along way.
