Why not if He is responsible enough and can afford it, who are we to say not to get it. As everyone say it will be expensive when it comes to insuring car. If this is out of his own pocket more likely He will respect the car and so will we, If parents bought then its another bashing. lol good luck thought.

here is my rendition of the future article.

A young driver that was known by his friends as "speedy buzzard" was an enigmatic and well rounded individual that was well liked by his peers. On the night of April ? 2011 at around 7pm, Speedy was traveling over the designated speed limit of 35 at a speed that was recorded at 60mph. The other passengers in the car who is a friend of Speedy's, known as Kamikaze Krusader, pressured the driver into getting into an altercation with a senior citizen couple who were driving in a Subaru Impreza. A witness at the scene later said that the young driver after being pressured by his friend who was sitting in the passenger seat, got out of the car and walked to the unsuspecting elderly couple and screamed, " That aint' AWD YO!, You GONNA LOOZE. RAAAWWRR" . Due to the sudden shouting and aggressive nature of this individual, the elderly driver suddenly went into shock and released his foot off the brake due to uncontrollable body movements. The vehicle proceeded to accelerate into a four lane intersection which ended up , by coincidence inside the front building of a retirement home. The paramedics were quickly on the scene and the elderly driver was stabilized and taken to the hospital where he was in stable condition. The young driver Speedy and Kamikaze were both placed under arrest for verbal assault and are currently awaiting trial.

Completely agree. Just because some teenagers drive stupidly doesn't mean that all do. I know that when I was a teenager I didn't drive like a bat out of hell. I'm a bit confused about why people would be so negative towards someone. They don't make you post on this forum, if you don't agree with what he is doing, why post? But don't criticize him because when you were 17 you couldn't of handled an EVO. Just saying.

On that note, good luck finding your car. This site has a wealth of information and you will learn a lot if you read.

There should be no need for anyone to post what age they are when buying an Evo. No one cares. If you are buying one, buy one. It saves people from wasting their time posting and reading about how someone is going to get killed, or is irresponsible or shouldn't have this or that. Young or old doesn't matter. People still must read to educate themselves and drive for the experience. Post questions about the Evo specifically and leave age out of the equation. Based on the questions, we can formulate the age bracket ourselves. Number one thing when buying an Evo is learning the driver mod, period. Don't worry about doing anything else before that is mastered. Good luck on your purchase.

6th year driving/owning my 2005 evo 8 and I'm 21 now, you do the math

just take it easy with the car and don't go overboard until you know what you're doing/you have the funds to support it. and always drive safe.

bad advice. the ACD is something you want in the car. it is a feature worth having, and you can fit a 3" dp fine. you just have to buy the one made for the ACD equipped cars.

ALL teenagers drive stupidly. They just don't realize how stupid they were until they are no longer teenagers. He's going to do something stupid, that's just the way it is. everyone would rather see him do it in a less powerful car, that's all.

Get the car but don't mod or drive it hard and like a moron until you're 19+

I got my Evo at 18 but I also don't hang out with immature kids or try and show off and act like an idiot to impress people. If you think you can handle being mature with it and not falling to peer pressure -- pick one up.

Otherwise, realize who YOU are and find a car that fits. The man makes the car. Not the other way around.

im a new 18 and I'm in the process of buying a evo, don't really know the generaton yet, I am really into the tuning and modification of this car, of course I wont be going overboard in power till i'm well out of college. besides, i drive a V12 Q7 a 94 Jag and 300SRT8, very fortunate to have parents, who love cars and taught me how to respect them. Also if i could give you any advice, if you do get it I'd prolly invest about a 100 bucks or so and go to your local autocross scshool. learn the fundamentals of handling a car like this beast. just my .02 cents.

whether the OP had work and saved up the money or he got it as a gift as long as you are responsible and can have proper judgment you should be fine just treat it like your last car.
