Well im 17 and im looking to buy a Lancer Evo IX SE (5 Speed Right?) as my first car. anyone know where i can possibly find one? Perfereably stock because most i find on craigslist are heavily tuned.

I want to find one so i can tune it myself. Also would it be worthgetting a stock one and tuning it myself?

I feel that this site with benefit me a lot! :d

Please don't buy an EVO as your first car.

These cars can be temperamental *****es. You'd be in way over your head. Not to mention the incredibly expensive insurance...

Here we go again!

Check the "Cars For Sale" section. 100% stock might be hard to find though. If you want to use it to learn to tune...well it's your car.

Good luck and I don't care if you're 17.

Edit: Welcome to evom!

Im guessing none of you had cool cars when you were 17-18 ? lol jk

First car + Evo makes me sad unless you know what you're doing. Generally you will have less respect (being your first car) and will end up abusing it.

If you have money go for it

Not fair Mike

My first car was 280zx and back in the early 90's everyone thought that was too much. Its not like he's getting A gtr or gt2.
Check the bargin news

Your fine for getting an 9 a's your first car. But they can be well not can are a pain in the ***. If your not good at driving stick don't get it tho. Not as easy as a civic. Other than that I would look more into an Evo viii way cheaper on insurance and a little cheaper to mod. Hope this helps.

We should support him. He's doing it right the first time by choosing an Evo

Just don't drive like your typical teenage douche bag.

Get one.

I don't feel like telling someone to not get a car because of his age, but there was a kid( also 17) with a Mustang the other day that died. Driving too fast went off the road.

Check auto trader,craigs(ny, tri-state area),cars.com,and here.

Yeah that pisses me off about people hating on him for wanting an Evo. I got mine when I was 17 but it was my 2nd car. I had a 08 Gts. Btw if you find the right Evo get it. I would highly recommend an Evo viii non acd. So you don't have to worry about that breaking and not being able to fit a 3inch dp without rattling against your t case and melting it lol.

I was 18 when I first bought my evo.. so go for it! Although I was fresh out of military training and I could afford it. I learned most of my tuning and tinkering with cars on hondas, which I do still own. Honda's are cheap and pretty easy to make quick. Evo's are VERY easy to make fast, but can be VERY expensive at the same time. I would suggest an rsx or something as your first car. Maybe an integra or something... but if you do go with the evo route, congrats and make sure you do ALL the research you can before posting the same question and being ignored. You are on the right forum for the right answers

Good luck!
