Whenever i go to our local auto part store, the guy at the cashier always ask me " why is your.mitsubishi matrix.revolution makes a wooossshhhh sound"

 

I had a guy at the parts store the other day who had his trailor queen ask me

Dude: So that rice burner fast?
me: How much money you got?
Dude: Thats my car ( points to a 79 camaro on a trailor)
me: Thats nice whats with the primer all over it and half *** paint job?
Dude: I am restoreing it but I'm taking it to the track the car is stupid fast.
me: thats cool whats it run?
Dude: it runs 8's.
me: thats cool.
Dude: in the 8th.
me: laughing hysterically with the guys at the parts store
Dude: whats so funny it will be much faster when I put the cage in it.
me: wow really?
Dude: yeah really, I am sure it would whoop on your car.
me: how much cash you got?
Dude: I don't race on the street.
me: well I would be embarassed to tell people I have a 8 second car in the 8th being that is basically a 16 quarter mile and if it has all that work into it like you said thats just sad.
Dude: you know your an ***.
me: no I am keeping it real. your sad and he walked away.

 

I wouldn't say 16's but like low 13's optimistically

 

1/8th and a 1/8th is a quarter and if he runs a 8 in the 1/8th I can't see it being much faster then double the time of the origional being I don't see that car having much top end for the back half of the track.

 

He already has momentum for the back half of the 1/8 so it won't take him as long to get there. If I run 7.0 in the 1/8th that would mean I run 14's in the quarter which is incorrect.

 

Logic fail.

unless he came to a stop middle of the track and re-launched

 

well whatever its still embarassing to talk **** and have a slow ****ing car reaguardless of the case of my logic.

 

not really fail i just dont see a stock 350 with prob nothing done to it run that fast in the quarter. So its really not logic fail, its just the way I see it. I have run a v8 down a track being I own 2 of them and yeah one has some work done to it the other is bone stock and it was slow as dog ****. Doesn't help there both autos either but best i could do was mid 15s on a stock ls1

 

In any case... since when does adding a cage make a car "Much faster"

 

I know right thats what made me laugh. What happens when you get them stupid inbread thinking where I live they say stupid **** like that

 

Legit... like lemme ADD weight, and it'll go faster. I've spent a lot of money doing it wrong...

 

Ya know after looking at some things and some slips yeah I was way off so Ill say thats a funny but stupid thing to say I was way off. That thing should run mid 14or even low 14 hahaha

 

Since this story is a little long, I'll just give you guys cliffs.

-Friends STi is in the shop with a blown head gasket
-Been giving him rides home every now and then
-Drop him off today and some really old lady is staring at me as I back out
-Friend confronts her
-She freaks out, tells him to not leave his car running, even though it's mine
-Friend laughs, and says it's not his, but a friends
-She claims that my car fills up her house with carbon monoxide, though she has no widows open
-Friend says that my car is never parked in his driveway running for more than a few minutes and that even if left running for a few hours it would have little effect.
- Friends walks away, old lady lacks knowledge of cars and chemistry.

I'm still debating going back over there and just start 2-stepping in his driveway haha, but I probably won't. Just a waste of gas

 

damn that's slow, my bolt-on ext. cab silverado ran a 15.1 full weight with 22's
