Help! Bad Idle?

Long story... I've had my Evo VIII for about 3 months now, and as always the "new owner, everything breaks" theory is applied.

I replaced the battery to a Duralast Gold, works lovely. I have been throwing EGR codes and have cleaned it out each time.

Saturday night I went to go out, was running fine after letting it run for a 10-15 minute warm up. Turned around because I forgot the CD i just made. After I got the CD and left again, I got about 5 miles from my house and it started idling at 600rpms... Continued to go in a straight line to see if I can hear anything and to watch the cluster. When I down shifted, it would "swan dive" to 1000rpms and want to shut off instead of the gradual fall. So Sunday I bought and replaced the sparks with the stock Laser Iridium's. Worked like a charm today until I came home from work and parked in the driveway...here it is at 900rpms and it sounds like a ****ing harley...gross.

What am I missing here? Only code I threw was the EGR (E0410 I believe it was, i know it was Deff. the E04??) Any help would be amazing...as I need this car to do what its supposed to do. Thanks!

I just found out my EGR could be stuck open... ::light bulb turns on::

If this is so, can anyone define how one cleans and or resolves that issue as well?

thanks again.... I'm not really this idiotic about cars... just mentally drained.

Honestly, the easiest thing to do is get your hands on a tactrix cable and disable the egr system completely via ecuflash and periphery bits.
