New member, Thinking of getting an Evo X

What's up guys, new here but not to forums in general.
Can you guys point me in the direction of informative stickies, best tuners, preferably in the NY area, etc...

Anyway, Nice to meet you all.
I'm driving a 2006 Audi A4 2.0T right now ( http://www.audizine.com/classifieds/...2-0t-a4&cat=66 )

Thinking of selling and getting an Evo X. Should I?

Any major problems with the 2008 GSR model I should know about?

Thanks!

-Marc

Wow, that's a pretty clean Audi. Anyway, welcome!

Here are some threads that should help a bit;

Wheel + Tire Fitment Confirmations
Wheel Offset Fitment Chart
Spring Rates
Alignment Specs
Paint Issues
FAQ's
"Is it worth it?" Thread

There are so much more, but that's what I got off the top of my head...

Edit: Forgot the most important one...

Paint on these cars suck, so don't get sad when you see rock chips everywhere. Plus notchy shifting is normal and so is grinding gears, lol...but driving an Evo is well worth the headache!

Sean Ivey for tune and major work
TWM just released a new shift kit to hopefully solve the notchiness
Make sure all recalls are done. Hood latch, relay, front airbag sensor, fuel line

I know all are free but the relay as I've had them all done at the dealership. The relay is a service bulliten and not a full recall so its a known issue but Mitsubishi isnt paying for it. You can order the blue relay from JNZ or SSP. Both carry them in stock. They are cheap $5 or so relays that go in the fuse box under the hood.

Also check the condition of the leather on the steering wheel (drying out and cracking) and if any staples are showing around the plastic inserts at the top of the front seats. These are known issues and some people have received free replacements from Mitsubishi and some people haven't. Perhaps if you are buying the car from a dealer you can have some leverage and demand they be fixed or you walk from the deal.

Great looking Audi. I love it..

There are a few recalls on the 08's but they aren't a big deal and probably have already been taken care of.. There are a few upgrades with the '10 and '11, but I love my '08. Only have about another year and a half or so till its paid off. Most of the problems in the 08's that people complain about are in all the X's.. notchy shifting in 2nd/3rd, fuel relay, some rattling inside, etc. They are all worth it, IMO.

question about the cobb ap. All of the maps are all on the AP or do you have to buy each one individually?
Tuning is so different compared to Audi so forgive me for my noobness lol

Every evoX that gets on the dyno has the relay checked and if it needs changing we have them in stock :-)
