Insurance Confusion...
Rates vary significantly by state and by actual location. Metro areas pay significantly more than rural areas. That said, it doesn't make sense for the rate to be higher with the truck on. The agent is entering something wrong, or there is a glitch in the system. Keep pressing them and ask for an explanation.
I called them and she pretty much gave me the explanation JoNaH gave. Guess I'll just have to leave my truck off the policy during the winter as I only tow my trailer to the dunes in the summer.
And I have a clean driving record so insurance is better than you speeders.

I bumped into my agent over the weekend and once you have two cars on an insurance it counts as your multiple car discount, so you dont keep getting discounts once you already have the multiple car discount.
I called our insurance agent to get a quote on an '06 Evo SE and it does not make any sense to me. I'm under my parents policy and there are 4 vehicles on the policy as well as the house, so they get all the nice discounts. If I remove my truck from the policy, full coverage is $106 a month on the Evo. Now if I keep my truck, the insurance for just the Evo is $143... How does this make sense? I thought the more cars the cheaper it is. I initially thought she was adding my truck and the car together but I asked her and she said no, my truck would still be the $50 a month I currently pay, plus $143. Anyone have any info?

You'll maybe want to talk to a broker directly and point out the car in their book. lol but if you do that you may end up paying 10k a year lol.. i still don't know if my insurrance got my car right.. my car just came off the boat west coast of canada, 2011 ww mr, haddent even cleared customs. called the insurrance company and gave them the vin number. they replied.. saying "that car does not exist.. so i called the sales person he took a photo and i then forwarded it to my insurance agent. and said here it is.. then she asked if i was purchasing from a "reputiable dealer" lol i was like well i'm not sure.. their a mistu dealer would you like their phone number.. either way aparently since her computer said the car didn't exist.. she had to make some extra profile in her computer and write everything down.. needless to say.. my pink card says 2011 MR Lancer evo white and ive been told i'm paying the same kinda insurrance as a buddy of mine with a 2010 lancer gts or something..
so good luck... most insurrance agents have no idea about cars.. half of them probbaly shouldn't have their drivers licence either..
What insurance company are you with?
Like someone else said, you already get the multi-vehicle discount with two cars, so it's not as if the rates continuously drop with every additional car.
My guess is that your agent is doing something wrong and assigning the wrong driver to the wrong vehicle, hence the rate going up when it should at least stay the same.
