So I have searched and to my understanding I need a Evo 9 wire harness, ecu, mivec head with sensors, mivec cams, mivec gears, Evo 9 valve cover, mivec oil feed line and mivec top timing cover. Every topic/thread I read about this didn't have much info on what engine parts are interchangeable. Every mivec swap I see they use a full Evo 9 long block. My questions are....

What parts do I need to convert a Evo 8 long block into a 9 long block?

Are the front case/ oil pump covers the same between 8&9?

Water pump interchange between 8&9 or do I need a 9 water pump?

Timing pulleys and timing belt side mount the same from 8&9?


I plan on doing a mivec swap but keeping a 2.4 bottom end. For parts I've gathered for the swap, I have map mivec feed line, Evo 9 top end with sensors, custom wireharness, Evo 9 ecu and a 2.4 evo 8 shortblock with new Evo 8 pump cover and water pump

What else do I need to complete the mivec swap?
