Welcome! What color is your Evo?

A turbo back exhaust would be my first upgrade if I were you.

The Evo actually uses a diverter valve (DV) vs. a BOV. A BOV vents the excess air to the atmosphere, while the DV recirculates it.

we got an apex silver Evo and I took it to a tuning shop here called MDR Performance and had them look over the car they are a great group of people and told me alot about the car and what i should do to it. at the end of all the upgrades i should be looking at around 450 awhp atleast or this is my goal. I also had them check the car for previous tunes that could still be on the ecu and it was clean.

as of right now im looking for a guages and the pod that mounts under the stereo.. if any one on here is selling some please let me know i need atleast a boost and wideband digital guages shoot me and message or respond.

Welcome! I got tuned with a 400s kit from COBB and they said that the stock BOV is good up to 30 lbs of boost before it might leak. Once you get an intake you'll hear the sweet beautiful sound you are looking for.
I'd wait until you do a bigger turbo and raise your boost and save the money and go with a mod that will get you power.
I honestly couldnt resist and bought a COBB BOV anyway. It has a slight whistle to it and Im a sucker for impulse buys.

As Cobb is a good company and all. I think I will be doing most of the work through mdr a shop here in south Houston the fabricator there is the guy who made toxicfab he told me that he will build everything for the car that I need and get the hp that I'm looking for. Apart from the bov I mean. They have not worked on alot of evo Xs so they will use my car for the build car as well as givinging me a good deal. They seem like a great group of guys I don't think I would take it anywhere else.

Welcome to the forum. This place has tons of information and lots of people for support/suggestions.

Before you start modding, ask yourself "What are my intentions for the car?" There are many paths to take and careful thought needs to be put in each one. I'll give you a quick rundown of what I have seen. This is all my personal opinion.

Show car - buy lots of flashy, expensive stuff. That's about it.
Dyno queen - Power, power, power. 450awhp is a TON and will beat almost anything on the street. I see plenty of people go this route only to have their car broken most of the time. I'm sure MDR Performance is a good shop and ToxicFab makes some sick parts. But it takes a lot of money to build a reliable street monster.
AutoX - Read rules (SCCA, Porsche Club, BMW Club) very carefully. They are very specific on what you can and can't do. And you need very little power mods to be competitive with the Evo.
Road Race (Time Trials of HPDE events) - Buy a surge tank, some sticky tires, and track brake pads/fluid. Again, the car is very fast and you will be passing Corvettes all day with a little practice.

There is a very wide range of Evo's here in DFW. If you are ever in the area, come check us out. It is NTEC (North Texas Evo Club) and we have a sub-forum in the regional section.

Also, there is a big group of us (at least 4 cars) going to the NASA event at MSR Houston on the 28-29 this month. Spectators are always welcome. Fell free to come by.
