Hello every one. My name is Lance. I am 25 and currently a army mechanic you might say. I have been deployed twice to iraq and did a little time in Haiti after the earthquake. I started getting involved with auto sports about 9 years ago with a 1995 talon TSI. After a few bolt ons and a little tunning i eventually moved on to F-bodies and built my first "fast car" a 2000 WS6 trans am. With a mosor 12 bolt, RPM transmission stage 5 4L60 and a little T76 pushing 9 psi down the stock bottom 346 she made 529 rwhp and 499 tq ran the 1/4 in 10.7 128 mpg). The problem was the car was almost impossible to drive on the street even with 315 MT DR's that needed to be replaced every 4K. You can guess spending 500 bucks every 3 months on tires is not very fun. I ended up selling the car to make some room for something a little more street friendly and i figured what better time to get back into a 4G63 car.

Long story short i found a high millage 03 in my price range. The current owner has owned the car for 4 1/2 years and uses it for his daily driver. It seams to be mostly stock and in good condition but has 109,000 on the clock. He claims to have replaced the clutch a year ago and it has fresh tires and brakes. We have settled on a price of $11,500 but i wanted to see what every one on here thinks.

My plans for the car are by no means crazy. I will be using the car as my DD/weekend fun

Sounds like a good deal as long as you come back with good compression and drivetrain doesn't make abnormal noise.

I got my 2005 for 12,900 with 98,000 miles and I knew the owner he owned it new and had all the services done by Mitsu and the mods done by good shops, so i thought it was a heck of deal. I would say if the car has been serviced and maintained good then that's not a bad deal at all....

 

That makes me feel a little better lol. I dont have a lot of experience with EVO's so i am excited to learn. I know the bottom ends are pretty damn tuff as long as they are tuned right. The car has intake, boost gauge, and wide band so i might be in the market for a full exhaust and tune. I am open to suggestions

I was not happy when i drove 6 hours to look at the first one in SC. The car would not hold more then 9-10 pounds of boost and ran like crap. Looked like a 17 year old kid had tried to mod it and she was rough. The one above looks like its in decent shape and he has just about all the mods that i would do any way.

 

IF every thing works out should pick up the new car Friday night.
