Well, in my opinion I wouldnt spend a 100 on a short ram since the gains will be minimal. I just got a Mass air adapter and a filter to go on it.

well since rrm's are really cheap, you think i should go ahead and get theirs? since it won't make a diffrence.

also i am gonna get headers, does that make a diffrence in which SRI i should purchase?

no, the headers are in the front of the car, whereas the intake is off to the right of the engine... any headers will work, just remember that you lose your first cat in taking out the headers... and if you can get any good deal on an SRI, and you dont want to put together your own from a MAS plate and filter, I would just get that... the only real difference in any of the intakes is what kinda heatshield and possible other pieces of piping it comes with

i just got this from ebay, going to install it tonight. it's all you need, just the MAS adapter and filter. And look, it only cost me $12 + shipping.

yea seriously, this isnt like a decision between a turbo, it's not gonna make that big of a difference between the two SRI's. I would say save your money and buy the RRM one or rig up your own..

I have not purchased one yet but the RRM looks like a pretty good deal. I plan on getting one in a few months. If there are any problems they should be able to walk you through it. The guys at RRM are sharp and helpfull on the forums.

RRM designed their mas adaptor to be a venturi, which speeds up the incoming air. Most other brands don't.

If I were you I would go with the cheap EBay buy if your on a budget. All you really need to buy is the filter and adapter, and thats basically what you get from RRM for $140. You also get an overpriced carbon fiber heat sheild that wont do much. The ebay buy is the same thing, just w/o the heat sheild, except you only pay $30.

I found a nice one ** well who knows ** from www.racinglab.com

the reason why i spent more was, because on these boards the time when i was thinking of getting a short ram intake people said get one with nice piping and a heat sheild because the stock hose is restrictive. Maybe people have proved it isnt or doesnt make a difference since just about a year ago, but who knows.

I would , if your not on a budget, find an AEM or Injen one. or if u dont wanan spend 200$ you can just find something like this

http://store.racinglab.com/mit2002uplan.html for 70$ and work with it.

I think anything is better tahn the stock hose but thats just me, and not only will it add a little umph, but it sounds a hella of alot better.

Well the stock hose is a little restrictive, but its too short to really make a difference. The stock hose is only about 8" long. Thats why most of the companies that make intakes for it such as RRM and RMR dont replace the upper tubing from the MAS to the throttle body. They just find a creative way to adapt a filter (i.e. Heat sheild).

If you want someting that replaces the upper tubing I would suggest looking at the Buschur Racing Intake. It has the same style tubing as the Injen and its on sale for $125. But you might want to call them about it cause it isnt advertised on their site or PM David Bushcur, SN: davidbuschur.
