Looking at an EVO IV

So, after checking out the new Ralliart, I came to the conclusion that its just far too much electronic nonsense and unneeded weight. Also, no manual gearbox

I ended up buying a little JDM WRX, which as been fantastic, light small and simple! Now that I'm fully comfortable with RHD, the car I've looked at for years is now a possibilty.

EVO IV just looks too awsome to pass up, I am however concerned about parts.... where to find them, what to do. Can anyone point me in the right direction for what will fit from local cars? The next question after that, is if anyone has done an AYC to LSD diff swap on one? I know the RS model comes with that already, but it also loses the power options I want.

Mainly, parts - what will fit, and where to get it. I know bodywise the Mirage is fine, but its the drivetrain and suspension I am concerned with.

Thanks guys!

Just picked up my IV a couple of months ago,

Parts seem a little tricky to find, aftermarket wise, a lot of stuff is only available from vendors or stores in Europe.

I can't answer your diff question because I haven't spent much time researching that, but I know things like outer tie rods are the same as a galant, so I can only assume that more smaller suspension parts would be the same as the galant, eclipse, mirage etc. Engine and ignition wise, a lot of stuff matches up with the evo 7-9 (god bless the similarities of all the 4g63's)
If all else fails though, you can always order parts from Japan, just a little bit more for shipping and can be long wait times.

Check out www.lancerregister.com, It's a Europe based lancer forum, lots of information about the IV on that one. You need to pay like 36 GBP to get access too the market place though.

Hope this helps.

That's a good bit of info. Do you have any pics of your car?
