Best of luck with the Subaru. If you have to ask...

Go with the WRX. I know plenty of friends who've broken every part on their car sub-300whp. Oh, and you'll be very unique because WRXs outnumber EVOs ~1000:1.

Well, I've driven a subaru, and the shifting is rather stiff, and the EVO's shifting is super smooth and responsive. People tend to go for the Subaru because of the sound it gives off due to its un-even headers. EVO's look nicer as well IMO. Theres my 2 cents haha

personally, for what you want out of the vehicle, I would get the STi.... as a whole the drivetrain is much stronger so you can beat on it all the time... just be sure you get the oil pickup mods because they like to starve of oil... that's the largest concern with going with the subie...

Otherwise, get an evo because who wants only 300whp? lol

drive each and the pick, its the only way. i drove a WRX and and then drove an EVOVIII and it was a done deal. its the only way. i own that EVO now but i was alway an EVO fan! driving both just sealed the deal i was always right. currently running at 311hp,290flbs @24 psi. clutch hit the floor two days ago, had to order the parts but i can fix it all my self so its a plus.

Win, win... "win" michael scott

300awhp in an Evo = Intake, Exhaust, Tune done

Whether or not your clutch or t-case last is entirely dependent upon you (and the previous owner). Go around launching the car by dumping the clutch instead of pre-loading the drivetrain and you're going to have a lot of issues..

Now... https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/search.php

Sell yourself upon which platform you deem better for your situation... Good luck
I knew i would get this answer and its ok. I have been doing research not just online but driving both. I like them both alot. and i was considering a regular wrx not just the sti but they are both on the list. There are certain things i like about both cars. The EVO i adore the looks and as it has been said i love the sound of a subie with nice exhaust.

I appreciate all the input i really do. You can do so much research online and all most of it does is send you on a wild goose chase all the time. I would rather hear from people that drive them day to day. You dont learn alot about a car in a 20 minute test drive.

Yes 300 whp is all i want. Ive had high powered cars and i dont want the nightmare of constant breakage and maintenance, the evo or subie would be a toy. I have another toy too its my b13 se-r that i bought new 21 years ago. It has been turboed, auto x and quarter miled but i was younger then and i didnt mind fixing things. Now i want to do normal maintenance and just drive.

When the time is right probaly around august i will be buying one and this kind of board will be where i look. Id rather buy from and enthuiast that i can see the progress they have done on here and the upkeep. Again i appreciate all your answers and comments.

I have never really got the whole pick the sti for a daily driver thing. They come with some of the worst stock seats of any $30k + car I have ever sat in, they bobble head like none other and strut clunk is the norm. My MR seems like a BMW as a daily driver after having the sti.

Both are amazing cars. I've done a lot of research on both as I too was in the market for both. Settled on the Evo because it just felt like an all around better car. WRX feels cheap and STi's are hard to justify cost wise over the WRX.

If your not going to go crazy modding or wanting power, get the Subaru.

Ringlands are a big problem over there.

Evo's are not cheap, mods take up most of your salary, LOL
And they are not reliable at all, LMAO.........

Test them both and one of them will sell itself better than the other one
