I know what I want
I just haven't figured out how to get it....
After seven years living overseas, I will be moving back to the US in two weeks. Specifically, North Dakota.
After spending a lot of time studying the different years and flavors and versions of EVO out there, I have concluded that what I want is a 2005-2006 (preferably an '06) Evo RS, either stock or nearly so.
Color not important; I only seem to see white RS Evos, so I guess it will have to be white. Car will be driven during the summer only.
There is a Mitsubishi dealership where I will be living, so there should be no problem getting getting fluids, but no Evos for sale near where I will be living, much less the one I want.
I don't mind travelling to get the car I want, but I need help to ask the right questions before I set off.
I read the Newbie Guide, which was a lot of help, but any more detailed information would be great. I don't want to buy a plane ticket to check out a car and then it turns out to be a turd.

Seems nobody here loves me....:boohoo:
Can anybody tell me what I ought to ask before I go look at an Evo that is nine hours from where I live?

Mileage, if it has seen track/drag strip, maintenance, mods, where it has been tuned if it's been tuned, if it has been driven in the snow/rain, just ask general knowledge questions you would if you were to buy any car.

Check under the car look for dents and scraped to see if it has been abused. Scrapes and dings aren't necessarily bad but they can show you how the car was driven, plus if they tell you it was babied and you see that you will know if their lying. Also make sure they will provide a clean car fax to show you. I don't recommend buying any kind of salvaged vehicle no matter what they look like they usually always have hidden problems (but if the price is right that might be an option)
Never forget about KBB either it should help you get an idea of what you should pay
also if you end up finding one that is lightly modded be sure to ask if it was tuned and by whom (preferably a professional) also ask who installed the parts. Did they do it or a shop. You probably know to ask most of this though but just incase I thought I'd try to help. Good luck on your EVO.

There is a "What to look for when buying a used evo" Its a very helpful thread. Should give it a look, should answer most, if not all the questions you may have.
happy hunting

Thanks for the advice, all very useful and keep it coming.
For what its worth, I did read the "New to Evo" link, just wanted to know if anyone had anything to add to that.
