Drove one for the first time

Well I was looking for an evo a few years ago, but ended up with an f-150 (yes i know how did that happen) and then traded it in on my current TBSS and have loved every min of it. I was on my bike yesterday and drove by the local toyota lot and seen a white 06 evo sitting there. Turned around and was looking at it and took it for a test drive and WOW is all I can say. That thing pulled hard and stuck to the road like it was on rails. Well a deal couldnt be made. Wouldnt neg on price for my ss nor the evo. Said it was too rare to let go for less than 24k, but I am hooked. Came home and thought why am I single and 24 but have a suv for a fun DD thats an auto and havent stopped looking for one since. So the search has begun. I remembered being on here before and looking so I figured I would come back and see what I can find. Hopefully I can find me a trade and deal and stick around for a while.

good luck on your search.

You are hooked! Plenty of good info on this forum. Read, research, ask questions, research some more. Be patient in finding an Evo. They are hard to find. Dealerships tend to sell them for way too much and they typically do not know much about them.

You can find a IX with less than 50,000 miles for 20K or less.

Why would the price go higher?

Im looking to buy an evo when I get back from afghanistan in August, I should have 6-8k for a downpayment. I remember the first time I drove an evo, it was an Evo VIII, Was so much fun to drive compared to what I currently own. Looking forward to awd, ac, heat, going to be nice back in the states.

The prices seem to have been staying pretty steady on the older Evo's IE: 8 and 9's. For example I bought my 9 MR 2 years ago with 26k miles on it for $25k. It seems like a lot of dealers are trying to get close to that for Evo 9's that have 60k miles on them. Seems crazy to me but I'm not going to complain.

Just an example if you didn't see the link posted above. http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...nal&listType=1

They aren't dropping that's for sure. I sold my IX when the time was right. I wouldn't let anything alarm you about the price, other than it's pretty steady and waiting to buy will barely impact the pricing.

The price for a good used 8/9 is still holding strong. Compared to a few years ago, it's the same.
