2012 Ralliart or 2012 MR for DD?
2012 Ralliart or 2012 MR for DD?
I already have a 450awhp 3000GT VR4, curious to see peoples opinions on whether to trade in my GTS for a Ralliart or MR for DD only. It won't see the track at all and will only be used for commuting to and from work. I'd like 400awhp or so, so which car would be the cheapest to get to that power and be a comfortable DD?
My wife just picked up a 2012 Mazdaspeed 3 and my GTS is now the slowest in the garage
, I can't have that.
I was stuck in traffic for an hour and my legs got tired of shifting, that is why I want to change to a DD that does not require clutching

Well, I just traded in my 2009 RA for a 2012 Evo MR.
In the end the best choice is going to come down to what you really want and what your budget will be.
The RA is $10K cheaper. Upgrade path to 400 awhp will be pretty much the same for either car and cost about the same in upgrades, maybe a bit more for the RA.
Both are good cars, though the Evo handles much better.
However, the MR also offers improved sound deadening that the Ralliart does not (noticeably less road noise). You also get the Bilstein struts, BBS wheel, Brembo brakes with 2 piece light weight front discs, etc.
In the end, if you plan to keep the VR4 and you just want a DD with 400hp the Ralliart is probably your best bet in terms of price.
Comfort, convenience and performance, go for the MR.
I recommend you test drive both cars, pay attention to the ride, handling, sound, comfort, etc. Ignore the power factor since you will be modding to 400 hp anyway.

In my opinion keep your lancer gts.. MUCH better on gas, maintenance and driving ease.. my mr guzzles gas in the city 20L/100km on the highway its about 9.7L/100km your gts is like 7L/100km in the city and 5.5 on the highway. If i could do it all again.. Id have Kept my Volvo V70R .. it was a great all around car. could track it and dd it. it was always comfy thanks to the 3 suspension settings.
