Noob-ish question about batteries

I searched, and didn't really find any answers to my question. I've changed batteries before, but never on my Evo, but the stock one might need to be replaced soon. I'm sure I can just go to AutoZone or wherever and get a replacement based on the car, but is there one that is recommended over others by you guys?

My car is a stock Evo IX SE with just over 50,000 miles.
I don't have any audio upgrades or anything else that would drain the battery.
A mini-battery isn't an option that I care to use at this point.

When I got my car smogged earlier this year, a trusted mechanic of mine told me that I should change it soon since the battery reading (I don't remember what metric it was) was one unit lower than it should have been, even though it starts just fine. However, I hadn't driven my car in four days, and this morning, it didn't start as easily as it normally does, likely due to the inactivity.

Suggestions for a new battery? Or does it not really matter?

doesn't really matter. if your not interested in getting a smaller battery any replacement battery that is the proper size and amp rating will work.

My car has an OPTIMA BATTERIES, and it has been on since 4/09. It already had it when i bought my car so i wouldn't be able to tell you the price for these batteries. Here's the part number for the one i have R34-980.

You are looking at close to 2 bills starting price for a red top. A blue top a lot more.
