Evo X to 2013 STI?

I'm planning on trading in my evo to a new sti later this year. I'm going to use the car as my DD since i'm letting go of my civic cause having to maintain 2 cars is getting expensive. No more weekend warrior anymore just the same car everyday of the week except when my girlfriend would lend me her car. LOL. I need input from anyone who has done the switch. Is it worth it?

Well, my brother has a 2012 WRX...if that counts. It's a pretty comfortable car, I would assume the STi is too. I do enjoy driving it every now and then...that's all I got, haha.

Meh.. I personally wouldn't do it unless I had to. You couldn't DD the Evo?

STis are pretty quick with fair handling- not on the Evos level. Plus have they ever fixed the ring land issue?

You will be getting a little bit better gas mileage, more trunk space, etc.. But giving up better handling, easier to work on car, better with mods.. It's really up to you and what you want in a car.. They are good cars, but they are no Evo. I almost bought one actually but am soo glad I stuck with another Evo. I DD mine and I love it.

Get it for sure daily drive you will love it forget about track this track that defenitly much better car as daily drive and no rattle everything nice and tight, wish I could go back would defenitly get a sti it's fast rear seats fold down larger trunk everything better.

Just not as mean looking as a evo and the reason I got a evo x is cause I have a 8 and wanted to have two evos. Yes I love the 8 and 9 evos better then a X but again f that I would have enjoyed the sit just as much

They still haven't fixed the rignland issue but I hear it's not as bad as the previous models.

I almost bought one too. Mostly because I hate Mitsu's warranty or lack of. But that ringland issue scared me away. And that was pretty much the main reason.

I can DD the evo but the STI's interior is way better except for the evo's recaros. But then again you could always buy some bride's and a nice set of coilovers to compensate for the handling issue. I won't be tracking it anyways so i'll just probably do intake and exhaust and a tune.

+1 to this. Even my girlfriend was saying to me that she likes the interior of the STI but the evo's exterior is way better.

Colossal downgrade! Don't do it unless you're going to get a customized license plate that says "REGRET".

In my eyes, it is a downgrade performance wise and interior wise. The interior of an MR is on my eyes nicer than the Sti and they also have the famous ringland issues even on stock cars. So warranty fights are gonna be there just like with Mitsu and the new gen STI should be coming out pretty soon so should wait for it (unless the 2013 is the new gen)

I really hope you don't do it. Yes, the STi is nice, but I have a feeling that after you get one, you will want to start modding it. The last two cars I had before I bought my Evo, I made a promise that they would be DD's and I would not mod them. Famous last words. I ended up modding both of them extensively. So, when I bought my Evo, I knew it was going to be modded from day one. If you do decide to start modding, then you might be fretting over the ringland issue.

I have to say that the ingress/egress of the STi are better than the Evo. The interior appointments seem nicer than a GSR. They look great too. However, you see a lot more of them than you do Evo's. Your Evo looks so fetching in Wicked White. And, it holds so much more potential than an STi. They are both nice cars. I could have bought an STi, but I just liked the Evo a lot better. Let us know what you plan to do.

You already have the evo and you like the evo why risk the chance of getting an sti and the regretting it

This should've been called "Thinking about downgrading"...while I do agree the X's interior is not as nice as the Subie's, it's not like your moving up to a BMW or Audi...My last 3 Evos have been DD, and driving other reasonable cars have crossed my mind, but test driving the cars only led to disappointment...
