Evo X to 2013 STI?
Dont do it!!! REGRET in your future. My cuz bought one and 3 months later finally subie took it back and give him his money back. He bought it brand new and been at the dealership every other week. They finally rebuilt the motor for him. Car was NEVER touched with nothing. just kept giving problems from mile 500!!
Not a good enough reason to buy an Evo X with the navigation as you can buy an aftermarket Nav unit that comes with a dash mount (Crutchfield). Though some will disagree, the OEM Nav unit is not worth half of the $2000 asking price. I had one because I felt the same way as you do, but regretted it 4 months after owning the car. Picked up a $1200 dollar aftermarket with dash mount that is leaps and bounds better than stock in every aspect.
I would keep the EVO man. Going to a New STI isnt going to benefit you much. To me the EVO X is a better all around car. The Xs are growing on me. My buddy just bought a brand new OB X SSL. On another note, I dont understand why people say the Xs interior is not as nice as the STI's. If you get a fully loaded X with leather, heated seats, NAVI to me its just as good or better.
My buddy has a 11 Sti and it fails in performance compared to the Evo,even in speed/acceleration with his stage 2 to mine with a not so great tune... It would be a big downgrade for me. Interior does nothing for me in the sti either.
Back in 2005, when I was young and dumb I was all about getting a STi. This was based solely on the fact that they do sound amazing.
However, after doing a little research I quickly learned that the evo outperforms the sti on almost every aspect. That's why I am confused as to why anyone who does research go for an sti.

I switched from an 08 STi to a 12 EVO X and couldn't be happier. Handling is way better and believe it or not so is the fuel economy.
The STi feels really fast when you get on it in S# but you do get some lag with it. Feels more sluggish down below but punchy up top which is the opposite of my evo. That's because the STi has an inefficient header mated to an average single scroll turbo. A twin scroll setup really does make a difference there.
Both good cars, really a matter of preference and plans.
Either way you'll have a cool car.

I had 2 different STIs and just moved into my first Evo. They are similar cars and yet feel very different. I loved the torque of the STI and the way it's delivered from the boxer style engine. The handling was crap out of the box, but improved greatly with a set of springs and sways. The Evo has a very different steering feel and is actual more neutral but way too much body roll out of the gate.

word!
it's not even the double din that makes it look good. the dash actually kind of "bubbles out" and has slightly different dash vents with the double din setup

Both WRX and STi are going to a 2.0 Liter engine and different chassis in 2013/2014 timeframe. Don't know if that will affect your decisions at all, but keep it in mind.
It's the same engine from the BRZ, but turbocharged.
Also there's rumors of dual clutch paddle shifters then too.
