Newbie from the Philippines
hi everyone. ive been lurking for quite a while now in here so i decided to register.
i imported a 2003 evo 8 from the US and got it for about 14/16+++miles and it was only last year that i had it released (yes customs here are very troublesome).
anyway im here just to know all that i need to in terms of maintenance and all those stuffs.
by the way, she's my weekend cruiser as my race car is a 2005 lancer glx (have no idea if you have it in the US as well. a 1.6L 4g18) strictly for autocross and slalom racing purposes only :-)
hope to learn more about my "not-so-new" car here. my first time to own a 4wd turbo hehehe

it was a very complicated procedure that requires A LOT of patience dealing with the customs people. took me almost 3 years to release it and get a local number plate.
HTH.
Wow good to know, thanks. Just wondering though, I know I have seen evo's for sale in Manila. Why didn't you just buy one over there? Just trying to decide if it will be worth it to bring mine or just sell it and buy one there.

yes there are at least a handfulmoriginal evos that ive seen in manila ranging from evo V to X but those arent even "for sale" and if ever they are, the asking price is ridiculously high. besides, living and operating the office inside a freeport zone has it's perks like we can import 2-3 units for personal use free of VAT though we have to pay tariff charges to have a regular registration plate ;-)
