Thinking about switching sides

Hey, I'm new to this forum and as the title states I'm thinking about switching sides. I come from Nasioc and IWSTI making me a Subaru enthusiast. My current car is a 2008 AWP STi and my car before that was a 2006 OBP STi so as you can tell this is a difficult decision for me (might lose a couple elitist friends). I've driven an Evo X MR and come from a background of American muscle so my Subaru was my first "tuner" car and I loved them, but, after seeing how well the Evo's respond to bolt-ons and how well They handle the higher HP applications (damn the EJ257 and its weak ringlands) it's really hard to justify staying with Subaru. However, aside from your Recaros, the interior is terrible. But if thats the only bad i can say about the Evo... We all know where this is going.

Anyways I hope this community is more laid back than Nasioc and will enjoy learning more about the 4G63/4G64 and the 4B11T. Thanks for reading guys.

Guy

Trust me, being in japan and seeing nothing but Evos and Skylines running around (omg the amount of iii's-vi's is staggering) it's been making it hard not to want the cookies.

I was in the same boat as you bro. I am a Muscle car guy and still have me 1000 HP 2000 Pontiac WS6 Trans Am.. I wanted a sick DD so I bought a 02 Bugeye and fell in love with it. Had it for 3 years and was going to get a STI but didnt find any that was a good price that I wanted to spend. So then I found my new DD 06 EVO 9 and I love this car. The car pulls hard and I cant wait to start modding it to. JUst the only thing I didnt like was I couldnt put a Double Din in it like I has in my Subi because of the damn heater/AC knobs.. But I have with my choice to go withe the EVO and I know you would also agree

Bugeye

Here is my new DD

Thanks for the advice. Like i said hard decision to make but I have some time. No matter which car I get it wont be my daily driver as the fuel economy isn't the greatest and gas prices are getting ready to touch $5 a gallon. That being said there is going to be a HUGE rotation of vehicles at mi casa. The plan right now is once I'm done restoring my 69 firebird (only got about $2-$3k left to put into it) I'm going to flip that for the best price I can get for it in my area. To support finishing that project I'm going to be selling my 2009 GSX-R 1000 that has less than 3K miles on it (It's a garage queen) and the Pontiac will pay off the debt I have outside of payments on my Subaru which will remain my DD until the lawsuit is finished and once THATS done the money I get back from the STi after i lose it will go into a Prius for DD and the money saved from the pontiac will be a down payment on either a 2014 Evo or STi. Might keep my 89 240sx as a track project or use it as a bit of a trade in... Haven't decided yet

Honestly I think best case scenario is parking an Evo next to a STi in the driveway would be ideal what i think I'm going to shoot for as an end goal

Turns out, after doing some reading, I have a little less than I thought. From what I already know an air pump is an air pump which is essentially what an engine is. Yea the fail points are weaker on the Subaru pistons and the 4b11T can hold more power on stock internals but when it comes down to it you STILL don't wanna put a BOV on your car unless you have too and you wanna keep it as a BPV if you can swing it... just as an example. I went through the stickies and the information on the forum seems a little scattered. Can anyone point me in the right direction for where i should get started?
