Where were you when your car was being towed? If you were there I wouldn't have let him tow my car without a flatbed. But with that said, I agree with everybody that says he should of known before anybody since he does tow for a living and should know these things. Get a lawyer but it will be hard to prove that he damaged your car without proof. Good luck!

Hi I am new here but deal with impounds a lot.

Was your car towed because you were illegally parked somewhere? IE Redzone or private area where it says car will be towed at drivers expense?

Also I would call the tow company to get the info on who towed your car, what tow truck they used and all that. Do not tell you want to sue them because then you will have to subpoena all that info. This will probably make or break your case.

I am going to go out on a limb that it was a private tow company that was using a small truck with a drop arm. they can hook and pull a car in less than a minute. The tow company should know what kind of car you have. They are not allowed to damage your car. Try to get as much info from them as possible in writing before telling them you are going to sue.

Also make sure to get the printout of the trouble ticket from the dealer about your car. In your case not only sue for damages but for the legal fee's as well.

above all good luck sorry that this happened to you.

Wow, sorry to hear that man. I've been wanting to buy this sticker just in case. It really would warn a towing truck guy not to even touch it unless he has a flatbed. And, most of them won't even know its an awd since they my judge the car by its cover that being said since its a car they asume its either a FWD or RWD in this case that person probably tought it was a FWD just by looking at it.

Heres the Link
