Why not keep your Honda for DD and buy a evo for weeked? Goes does get expensive especially if your on it all the time.

It's also the same awd drivetrain as the evo x just without AYC.

$15 pill +free tune and it makes the same power as a stock evo x.

Yes I am well aware that despite all the similarities it is NOT an evo and can't really become one! But someone looking for a hot hatch that is quick as ***** with slightly better mpg, it's great!

I'd say, if you were spending lots of time at the track, the evo would be better. But more time driving like a normal person, the ralliart. At least that was part of my decision making process. I drive a lot as well, the evo would have been too much gas and too rough of a ride for me. I opted for the RA because there is still lots of room to tune, and it was easier to live with as a DD. I usually get 300-320 miles on a tank, hilly highway driving, with 2-3 gallons left.
Well, you've certainly done your reasearch. Are the weights the same? The corner weights too? Are the dampers and spring rates the same too? is the frame set up identically? i hadnt thought that it was. Does the gar have a computer program for the tranny? Really? Here I thought I was the computer program for the tranny.

Running the same brake calipers or block and internals and brakes does not the same car make.

But...you make a point as I'm only using the Evo X as a race car and can't speak to it in its stock form or as a DD. I guess, as you put it...I'm not a "normal person".

I suppose, ultimately, it comes down to what you are trying to do with the car. I'm not saying that the Ralliart is not a spectacularly wonderful car. I have no idea. I just understand that a mixture of common parts does not necessarily mean that you will have the same car. Heck, you might be able to make the Ralliart better, for all I know. But, whatever it is, it won't be the same and you'll have to decide (and I suggest you do this before you buy) what you want to drive and how you want to spend your money.

I'm giving the basics here. You're right though, and like I mentioned, a ralliart can't ever become an evo.

Just get the evo try it if you don't like it sell it..it's that simple although I highly doubt with all the fun you'll have you'd want to sell it.

A good tuner will make you and your car happy and gas friendly.

Well my Honda is a race car already it was my weekend car. I had a dd civic but it wasn't totaled in an accident in November so ever since then been driving my race car to work. An my clutch and suspension is tuned for the track not the freeway an sucks driving...
But besides that I couldn't afford to keep both. Wish I could tho.

Thats a great idea and im sure you're right but if for whatever reason I dont like it an I sell it I lose my civic in the process. To you it may be just a ff mini van looking pos but it's really not worth the risk lol but then again I have got to test drive the evoxmr

I like the MR because i am in traffic 5x a week and don't want to deal with a clutch anymore but i still want some thing that will set me back in my seat and take to the track on my weekends.
Haven't been able to test drive one yet but i know I will love it.
Only thing that is kind of turning me off is the MPG: 17 city/22 highway!?
that's insane!
My civic is Highly Modified and uses 91 octane only and gets about 350 miles on about 11.5 gallons of fuel. How does that compare to the EVOX MR?
i do about 90% Highway driving and total almost 2000 miles a month. Do you think its going to hurt me more or maybe be more less the same?

I also took a look at a 2010 Lancer Ralliart sport hatch today and was impressed at the fact that it is just short of Brembo's, Recaro seats, and some HP to being dubbed an EVO am i right? But just because the price tag is smaller and less HP doesn't give this car the edge in MPG at all.

I've also seen the EVOX SE model have the SST auto trans mission but the closest one I've seen is about 350 miles from me in AZ.
I appreciate any advice you can give me an hope to join the forum and be an active member. THANKS! -ethan
I have an X MR and if i max out a tank (like 14 of the 14.5) i can go 300 miles on the tank. works out to about 21ish mpg. as far as the ralliart goes, i know a guy who got a ralliart (not the hatch but a RA nonetheless) and spent the difference in mods and it's quicker than my X with just an intake. guess that just brings it down to whether you want to do that portion yourself or start out with it. hope this helps!

What's different about it? It's a transfer case with a active center differential with torque vectoring front to rear with three settings, tarmac, gravel snow. That's pretty much word for word what the IX system was. It might use updated software, but the system is for all intents and purposes the same Mitsubishi AWD system that has been used on all US-market Evolutions prior to the X.
