ok...so u want to put the 4g63 and AWD tranny in ur lancer?

well...u have to completely redo the undercarriage of ur car...move the gas tank, cut up some room for the rear wheel driveshaft, than u have to cut up your trunk maybe to fit the rear differential...than u have to spend maybe 4-6k just to get the motor into the car(thats what others have stated)

and if u have an auto, and its a manual tranny u need an new ECU and wiring harness's, and console...

and im sure thats not 1/2 of it....so just buy a 1g dsm shell and put the engine/tranny in that and a few other things and work on a drag car.

P.S. --- Search, this has been discussed so many times i think they started just deleteing the threads

please god don't tell me you bought the motor of an evo with out knowing what the cost would be. dude this is gonna be about a 15k swap. hmmm lancer price about 13-14k. add that together and thats an evo.

all i have to say is sell that 4g63 and just get a damn stage 2 turbo rrm is making, or ripps sds. and get some internal work done, so you can booast up to 15-16 psi. and you will have evo power. all of that can be around 6-7k. and spend another 2kon other ****.

if you do this i',m gonna say you will get more than 300hp (more than evo) as for torque, i'm not sure. i am never known for flaming some one , but if you actully go through with this. you are an idiot.

ask the folks at Mitsubishi Motorsports..they did it

seriously tho, this is a costly mod. u should've gotten a quote or something before u got the motor and tranny...even dropping in the tranny will be costly. It can be done, but with a lot of money. Good luck!

well...first you need to state which 4g63t motor you bought.

i would highly recommend you to search this forum on 4g63t swaps, evo conversions, and awd conversions.

also do a search on www.mirageforums.net our cousin forum who have extensive research on such work.

Just use the stock (FWD) transmission. Weld in the new mounts and Change the harness and ECU. If you are good with cars you can make it work. It just takes time to wire it up. Definately not as bad as people say. I just finished swapping a 1.8T into a 91 GTI. We welded in the mounts and used a standalone comp to run the motor. We had to use a hydrolic clutch pedal, and change the throttle body over to a cable style. Then had to split the axles at the CV joints and join them with VR6 splines. Wasn't that bad, just time consuming. total cost was about 6 G's and 30hrs for two guys. Hardest part was lining up the mounts (motor in and out). Finished product is well worth it!!!

I dont mean to be rude, but how many times is this question going to be asked... this month? Moving to neabie forums, and once again, anything is possible if you want to spend more $$$ than a brand new Evo.
