Are EVO VIII/IXs getting rarer?

Hey folks. Just noticed that it seems that EVO VIII/IXs are getting harder to find. Not that I am looking since I already have one, but the guys who are in the market seem to be having a tough time.

I guess if you have one, hold on to it

since they dont make them anymore, and at least a few undoubtedly are totaled each year, i'd say probably. what's definitely getting rarer by the moment are clean ones

Clean and in good shape ones are hard to find. They are also holding there value as well. I remember seeing an EVO IX locally sell for $25K with 52k miles on it. I bought my Black IX for $23,000 with 48k miles on it 4 years ago lol.

I think there going to continue to hold value and be harder to come by. Especially lower mileage ones. If you have one, def hold on to it

I believe this is true about the rarity because Ive been looking for a clean evo for a good while now and it seems i would only find a handful at a time and maybe one was clean but luckily I just picked up an 04 SSL with 60k miles, which I believe is clean. I plan to keep mine forever I hope lol

It's definitely true at least for the cleaner ones. When I was searching for mine I did find them but they all had high miles and were really rough looking. I got soooo lucky with mine. It was like a diamond in the rough.

rare cars

I have been closely watching these cars get totaled and stripped clean like some vultures attacking dead roadkill. I have counted at least 200 to 300 that have been totaled. These cars will have some pretty good value when you add that they only made roughly 12 to 14 thousand 2003 to 2006 evo viii's and ix's. These are going to be the ones to have.

^^^same with my RS. I bought mine 4 years ago it was priced at 26k and I took it home for 12.5k (right before the dealership went under). I've looked for a second one and helped friends search, most have salvaged titles though Keep yours, I'm keeping mine until I die!

I plan to!! I feel bad for people trying to look and they can't find anything but for a clean one you really gotta take your time. They are all hidden!!

I guess at some point, all EVO VIII and IX owners are going to know one another and sort of command the pricing/value lol!

8&9 owners already command the value lol. It's crazy to still see one sell for 25k+. You can get a brand new one for that price lmao. I'd love to own a IX but people put crazy prices on their cars that you know damn good and well got beat to ****.

There's a dude selling a IX on here right now that is basically totaled. There is frame damage and the airbags deployed. He is asking 9.5k. That guy is smoking crack, and if someone give him that price for it, they are smoking crack lol.

My garaged, 2005 LY EVO 8 has 24,000 miles, and is in mint, like new condition! I'm definitely holding onto it as long as I can!

No. They are different platforms, but both have great qualities. There are people who will say one is better than the other. The 8/9 have things that the 10 doesn't and vice versa. They are both great cars
