Picked up a 05 Evo8 with 145k+....

Got my hands on a 05 EVO with 145k miles. Car came with tubular headers, intake, MBC, boost & AF ratio gauge and aftermarket Intercooler and a clutch job about 2 years ago...

everything else is pretty much original including all the belts, this car hasnt had any major service done since it came off the lot. My question is how should I be looking at as far as keeping the car reliable.

so far Im looking to get

timing belt
alternetor and ps belts
Tensioner adjuster
tensioner pully
Idler pulley
Balancer tenioner pulley
Balance shaft belt
water pump

change all fluids (oils, coolant, tranny etc..)

all OEM, but what else should I be looking for

thanks for the input guys!!

That's a good start. Add new OEM plugs also.

congratz on the new addition. If you're looking to keep it reliable i would keep it as close to stock as possible meaning try to avoid "going big". Big power breaks parts in some cases, IMO. It's a great feeling though isn't it? lol

Congratulations on the car. I'm strongly considering adding one to my garage this summer. From what I've heard, take care of the car and it will take care of you.

Add brake fluid to the list. You never know when it was done last and brake fluid loves to absorb water. You'll be surprised what a good bleed can do. If you don't have a power bleeder, just use the gravity bleed method. It will take forever but I've heard the results cannot be beat.

I'd take it to Bisimoto. They do a lot of Honda's there but they have a Mitsu guy also and they have had a few Evo X shop cars.

They do really high quality work there and they aren't super expensive (About 300-350 per hour)

Here is their website:
